, an easy stretch can be done with a towel, belt or dog leash. While laying down, Loop one of these under your foot(around the arch part) and pull up using both your hands to pull.Leg is straight and you feel the pull in the back of your leg.

Are you taking calcium/magnesium supp. at night? This should help with spasms. A nurse told me to take in the evening when I was pregnant and having spasms. They immediately stopped.( I think calcium is absorbed at night. )

Also, when I had gone to PT , I was told that bike riding does not streghthen the muscles needed for walking and balance. One excersise that really works is laying on your back, knees bent, and march in place slowly. Wow, that was so hard for me.The bike is good for endurance and cardio but not building your core, which is what we need. Also, squats and weight bearing excersises. I found that many PTs are like neuros, don't know too much about MS. Have fun working out. Kiki

,

I am in a state of physical ability where just about everything is impossible to do by myself. Sitting Indian style in the floor or on my bed and bending forward, reaching as far as I can. Sitting up and twisting at the waist is good. I, too, do the pulling my knees to my chest. It helps. If you are in the kind of shape I'm in, we are limited.

Laying on my back with knees bent and marching in place slowly! It took me a while to start to feel my core muscles, but once I did

wow! Great exercise and back friendly! Thanks noclue!

Are you lying on your back with your knees bent and feet on the ground? then lifting them and replacing them? or "air marching" such that your feet stay off the ground??

Don't overdo that marching while laying down, you will feel it tomorrow! Start with 10 steps or less for a couple of weeks and build up. Kiki
