Guest guest
They are generally thyroid / adrenal issues. Steph Dark Circles and Sunken Eyes Are sunken eyes with dark circles a sign of something? Does that indicate iodine deficiency or thyroid problems? Anyone know?
Guest guest
This is indicative of low magnesium. Magnesium chloride should applied transcutaneously ie., through the skin. Magnesium sulfate (epsom salts) is not well absorbed by the body and should not be used to help this condition. CalMag may be helpful but the best way, by far, is to apply the ocean derived oil topically onto the skin. http://www.integratedhealth.com/hpdspec/magnesium-oil.html Shop around. Guest guest
Why would you say that epsom salts are not well absorbed by the body? In what context? ----- Original Message ----- Magnesium sulfate (epsom salts) > is not well absorbed by the body
Guest guest
Because they are not. Epsom salt is used in floatation isolation tanks specifically for this property as the body soaks in high concentrations of it to establish positive buoyancy. If the chloride form were used the body would become saturated by too much magnesium and would likely die as a result. When taken orally for an intestinal cleanse, most of it passes out and very little of it remains. Some is absorbed, of course, as we all know about soaking foot baths, but the amount actually retained in the skin is substantially less than if one soaked their feet in the chloride form let alone bathed in it. > > Why would you say that epsom salts are not well absorbed by the body? Guest guest
Many folks soak in epsom salt baths to help get more magnesium into the body through the skin and to help with detox. Are you saying that we should abandon this practice since you said: " Magnesium sulfate (epsom salts) is not well absorbed by the body and should not be used to help this condition. " ? ----- Original Message ----- > Because they are not. Guest guest
Can also be allergies. My daughter use to have this. We discovered it was coming from aspartame in her sugarless gum. Headaches and dark circles gone! She is allergic to many things but it seems the main problem was the aspartame. She looks so much healthier now... > > > Are sunken eyes with dark circles a sign of something? Does that > indicate iodine deficiency or thyroid problems? Guest guest
Not at all. Some obviously is absorbed and that is why people do it. The chloride form is substantially better, however. Many people who are magnesium deficient will bath in a tub with a good amount of magnesium chloride. The can feel the difference within hours. Some athletes will bath in it just before a contest because it gives them so much energy. Too much, however, may become a poison, especially in chlorinated water containing fluoride. Fluoride is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS as it has a powerful ability to bind with other elements which are normally innocuous turning them into deadly poisons. I would be reluctant to add high amounts of magnesium chloride to bath water for this very reason. In one book I read, an expert on the hazards of fluoride told of a patient who first visited his dentist and received a fluoride treatment and then went to his Allopath and was given a shot of penicillin. He died within 5 minutes from receiving the injection. > > Many folks soak in epsom salt baths to help get more magnesium into the body > through the skin and to help with detox. Guest guest
I heard that is a low adrenal symptom. Check out this website, I'm not sure about all of it but it's interesting: http://www.drrind.com/scorecardmatrix.asp Marlena > > Dark Circles and Sunken EyesThey are generally thyroid / adrenal issues. > > Steph > Dark Circles and Sunken Eyes > > > > > Are sunken eyes with dark circles a sign of something? Guest guest
Wow! I'm sold. I'm ordering some magnesium oil today. Anyone recommend a good source. $40 for a gallon sounds like a great deal. Every place I looked had it for $98. Thanks a ton for the feedback! Guest guest
As with anything else, you need to consider purity of products you purchase. This is where Dr. Brownstein gets his magnesium chloride: http://www.magnetic clay.com/ I think I understand this to be a "purer" form of mag chloride .. than others. I personally used a another brand and had issues with worsening detox issues. Haven't had that problem with mag chloride purchased from the above site. Guest guest
I have it and have been using it. It does tend to sting a little bit. I don't understand why it does that. Steph said if it stings to try to leave it on for about 25 min. and then wash it off. I have been putting it on my legs in the evenings. Guest guest
I did a lot of research into the magnesium oils before we decided to carry them and the Ancient Minerals I by far the best. I use it, personally, and do not have issues with stinging. It’s more expensive, but the quality is exceptional. Some of the magnesium oils are watered down and some are not filtered as well. The Ocean Minerals is also good, but tends to sting a bit. Not everyone experiences the stinging. It does seem to leave a bit of residue once it dries. Also, you will be surprised how long an 8-ounce or 16-ounce bottle will last. A gallon of oil is a lot! http://www.oasisadvancedwellness.com/products/ancient-minerals-pure-magnesium-oil.html Warm Regards~ Loretta
