Guest guest
, I'm sure there are others here with much more expertise than I have, but you really need to take care of that blood glucose. These are seriously high numbers. You are injuring your organs by not getting the BG down. Supplements, etc will not do it. Insulin is what your body is lacking and what needs to be replaced. Oral diabetic meds are not good as they ruin your liver & other organs. Have you addressed your adrenals? It sounds like you are taking good doses of thyroid meds, but your frees are pretty low. Have you done saliva testing? Your CRP is really high, too. Are you taking anything for that? I started on fish oil & coQ10 for imflamation because of high CRP. Maybe someone else has other ideas on how to get that down. BGod Bless America! One nation under God Test interpretations, please OK, folks, finally had my labs done; anyone up for interpretation? Currently, I’m taking 3 grains of Armour, .25 mcg of Cytomel, multi vitamins, vitamin D – some other supplements for blood sugar which, at the moment is horrendously high. BP is running @ 160/90 which, when compared to my usual 116/70 is high... Doing DHEA and other hormones next month. SC Test 11/14/08 Unit Ref. Guest guest
: Yes the numbers are astronomical; and I am all too aware of the related problems..... pretty depressing. I am going to concentrate on diet/exercise, with the metformin for a period of time to see if I can get it under control. I did it very effectively before; but have fallen, head-first, off that wagon.... My naturopath has already said insulin will be the next step if things don’t drop. Again, majorly depressing. She is also concerned about the CRP – as am I; did the fish oil and cQ10 bring your numbers down there? How much are you taking? I’d like to see it under control as well. Guest guest
, The fish oil and coQ10 did bring my CRP down, but it was only at 6 to begin with. I took 6 capsules a day of Carlson fish oil and 200 mg coQ10. My DH is on insulin only, after not being able to regulate his BG on oral meds. He is doing great with it. The needles are tiny... like a hair. But there is the chore of always having to carry diabetic supplies around. I hope you do well! Guest guest
You need more thyroid hormone. Your levels are at the bottom of the ranges. You need to take some Vit D3 as your number should be 50 or higher. Your ferritin is too low - should be 60-90. Your cholesterol is too high - probably due to low thyroid. Your glucose is too high (obviously) which would be helped with an iodine regimen. Steph Test interpretations, please OK, folks, finally had my labs done; anyone up for interpretation? Guest guest
Steph – I’m increasing the Armour to 4 grains (and keeping the cytomel for the moment) – beginning yesterday with ¼ tablet increase. If that works well, I’ll increase another ¼ tab next week. I’ve added Vitamin D – as my naturopath agrees that is too low. I am going to order the iodoral – time gets away from me; but I am anxious to start that. I wish there was a retail outlet nearby that carried it; I hate to wait for shipping. My naturopath felt the ferritin was OK – but reviewing it again, I see that it’s on the very low end of that infamous “normal” – supplementation? What kind is best? If I recall correctly, iron needs C – and I already take that. What about a multi with iron? Guest guest
Thanks, Steph. I really appreciate you... and everyone else who takes the time to help those of us searching for answers! At this point, I can barely function, much less to a ton of research or reading, so having a very ready resource is just a Godsend! Happy Thanksgiving all. Currently, I’m taking 3 grains of Armour, .25 mcg of Cytomel, multi vitamins, vitamin D – some other supplements for blood sugar which, at the moment is horrendously high.
