You are absolutely correct! Cypro is very dangerous. Fluoride can

destroy your thyroid gland. Cypro belongs to a new class of

antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones. All of them are based on

fluoride. This is a very evil drug which comes to you from a former

Nazi experimental laboratory. The German drug companies of WW-II were

not disbanded after the Nuremburg Trials, they remain in business

today and many of the criminals who were prosecuted for war crimes

returned to their executive chairs in those companies after serving

very light sentences. Almost all drugs contain chemicals that damage

the body organs, primarily the liver, and/or they contain substances

that are habit forming.

Before you ever fill a prescription go to the library and look up the

drug in the PDR aka Physician's Desk Reference. All drugs listed

therein are documented for side effects and long term results from

taking them. Find an alternative whenever possible. Seek out and

befriend a homeopath of naturopath, these people are your best defense

when you get ill. A former MD turned Naturopath is your best bet.

There are some excellent doctors out there but they are few in

number. The people who run health food stores generally know who the

good Docs are.

pain I went to the Urgent Care center.

drug " and that CIPRO was better because it was more broad spectrum.

So I took his advice (DUMB!) and when I returned home from the

pharmacy Dr. Brownstein called me. He asked if I was OK and if I had

done anything yet. I told him the rx I got and I sensed hesitation

in his voice. He told me to call him if I needed him for anything.

I agreed and hung up. Now I hadn't taken my meds yet. So I ate

breakfast and then at 10:30 I took my first dose of 500 mgs.

I can't breath. I try to make change and I can't figure it out. I

did one order - with a calculator 3 times. My husband finally comes

and I tell him that I have to get out of there and I burst into

tears. I text message Dr. B with a 911 that I need help and then

call my cousin who tells me he has never heard of that issue. Dr. B

calls me and tells me that it happens in 50% of the people who take

it to varying degrees. So I get my Batrim rx from him and he feels

he hesitated. I tell him it is OK. :)

Interesting, your cipro symptoms are the same ones I have when I take

iodine even in tiny amounts. Perhaps fluoride is the culprit. Would also

explain why salt doesn't help.

I was prescribed Cipro about 7 years ago and took it for several days, also for

a UTI. Not only

did it not work, the UTI turned into a kidney infection and my thyroid has not

been the same

since.

" [FLUOROQUINOLONES ARE A CLASS OF ANTIBIOTICS THAT ARE VERY TOXIC

FOR TENDONS, CARTILAGES, THE NERVOUS SYSTEM AND OTHER ORGANS "

Just out FDA now putting black box warning on Cipro and other FQ

antibiotics:

http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/InfoSheets/HCP/fluoroquinolonesHCP.htm

Here are 2 sites to learn more: http://www.fqresearch.org/ and

http://www.fluoroquinolones.org/. I too unfortunately took Cipro for

a sinus infection, within 2 days felt something was wrong, major drop

in BP, temps and hypoglycemic...did some research and stopped it

immediately. Doctors are routinely prescribing this antibiotic. So

sad! I had one patient taking it and became very dizzy while getting

her physical therapy treatment. She had just started Cipro. I had

to drive her home. She called the pharmacy and they said it was a

side effect. It took a while for her to improve she reported. I had

a home health patient last week on it for a UTI, this lady is 91 and

she began to have anxiety and became shakey. I told her son to call

the doctor that it could be a side effect of Cipro. It is so

frustrating that doctors no nothing about this type of drug and major

adverse side effects. I will be interviewing my future patients that

present with tendon ruptures to see if they used one of these

antibiotics prior to the tear. Although it is too late isn't it...

How can we be subject to toxic exitotoxins like aspartame & MSG in

our foods and now antibiotics that can permanently harm a person?!!!

Most people trust and are unaware!! My eyes have been opened and I

plan to learn as much as I can to protect my family and educate my

patients.

, I have heard magnesium may help with the adverse side

effects. What did Dr. B advise?

I am glad you are bringing this subject up...I hope you feel better

very fast! I seemed to bounce back quickly.

Love that we have a place to share what we learn and help each other!!

I was given Cipro by a GP for a sinus infection. It didn't work.

When I finally went to an ENT, she said that was an inappropriate

antibiotic for such an infection, but since it is the " latest " drug,

too many doctors were prescribing it for for just about anything. It

did give me a fibromyalgia crash, which I've since learned was pretty

usual. My husband was given it when we went toPeru to take in case

of " anything. " He didn't! Like Augmentin, Cipro makes many people

sick. It is of last resort. Fibrojay

I guess the bottom line would be NEVER to rush to an MDs office unless

you are darn sure that you NEED them and even when he/she gives a

prescription, ALWAYS question them on the side effects OR go home and

and do a search to be absolutely SURE this is the drug that will work

for you!!! Remember ALL DRUGS HAVE SIDE EFFECTS. phine.

Hi all

I am one of those who gets extremely sick from augmentine.I go through

something like adrenal crisis when I take it.Nausea, vomiting, extreme back

pain,loss of consciousness.

Do you know the reason for that? Anyone had similar experience.

I have a tendon problem due to cipro usage.

I think for me it was a neurological issue. This drug is a neurotoxin - maybe the fluoride is an added "bonus" but it was bad. I haven't felt like that in a long time. Probably since I had my amalgams out and was starting to chelate. I would have those panic attacks then.

Hi Steph,

About that UTI-------------

Before I knew better, I was getting UTIs with some frequency right after menopause. The first time, I took Bactrim which worked great until 2 days after I finished it.

So, the doc put me on Cipro (this was about 10 yrs ago). I stuck it out for 4 days when I HAD to quit. There was no doubt in my mind that this drug was really out to kill me.

You might laugh at what I did to cure the UTI at that time------I took 6 drops of Lugol's 4x a day. Two days later--no UTI.

This was before Brownstein, et al, had written the books, so I promptly quit the Lugol's.

But since you're already taking mega iodine, I doubt that this would be your answer, so I saved the best "medicine" for last.

Around 5-6 yrs ago (a reasonable guestimate), science managed to isolate the active ingredient in the beloved cranberry juice 'cure'.

It is a polysaccharide called Mannose, and it is available in just about any HFS in powder and in caps.

Mannose will knock out the worst UTI (according to all reports) in 3 days at most. When I suspect one is showing up I no longer bother calling the doc. I just start putting Mannose powder in water 4-6 x a day with the little scoop that's provided. I keep the capsules around for convenience (away from home, etc). It works by putting a "slippery coating" on the bladder and e coli (the source of almost all bladder infections in women) cannot stick to the bladder wall to start it's mischief. The e coli is continually washed away.

I have not had to deal with any UTI of serious consequence since; a few have started up before I figured out what was going on, but a day of Mannose and I'm symptom free again.

I also buy the simplest test strips from the drugstore in case I want to test myself to make sure that's what I'm dealing with.

When I had a $20 insurance co-pay, it was crazy to spend it just to go to the doc and have them test it-----especially when, at that time, I seemed to be cooking up these infections 5-6 times a yr!

I'm sure a google search will turn up all kinds of info on Mannose, and a frugal search would give the best pricing on the 'net.

Hope this is helpful,

Sharon M

I am feeling much better thank you. The infection is almost undetectable

(to me feeling it) at this point which is good since I leave on vacation on

Tuesday. To be honest that is the only reason I quickly agreed to an

antibiotic. I avoid drugs at all costs but I was in so much pain with this

one that I couldn't take it and knew that I didn't want to be 2,500 miles

from home and sick. Next time I will make time to think about what my

options are and not do this. Back to not trusting allopathic doctors or

taking drugs. It isn't worth it. I am pampering my liver now after this.

I didn't get an antibiotic, however I was given a generic nose spray for allergies called Fluticasone. ( for Flonaise) I asked my doc about it, and in the PDR for the name brand drug, it did not list any of the bad ingredients...

Re: A word of warning....... CIPRO

I was given Cipro by a GP for a sinus infection. It didn't work. When I finally went to an ENT, she said that was an inappropriate antibiotic for such an infection, but since it is the "latest" drug, too many doctors were prescribing it for for just about anything. It did give me a fibromyalgia crash, which I've since learned was pretty usual. My husband was given it when we went toPeru to take in case of "anything." He didn't! Like Augmentin, Cipro makes many people sick. It is of last resort. Fibrojay > >> > I wanted to give you all a heads up on this drug. It is an antibiotic but not like any other. Another natural cure is garlic, and lots of it. Stinky yes... but it is supposed to work.

A friend is working with a Chinese Doc who is very good. He had prescribed that she eat raw garlic.

She is trying to recoup from 2 rounds of bad antibiotics. I don't know which ones she took...

A word of warning..... .. CIPRO

I wanted to give you all a heads up on this drug. It is an antibiotic but not like any other. I was prescribed this yesterday for a bad UTI. Unfortunately Dr. Brownstein was traveling and we could not connect for 2 days so in a desperate attempt to relieve my pain I went to the Urgent Care center.

Steph, I am glad you are feeling better before your trip.

I am sorry you had to go through that, however, you did teach a lot more about the prescription medications!

I swear God teaches me through experience. It is always bad enough to bring me to the edge of tolerance but not enough to gain physical harm. I keep asking him why (actually I don't) I have to be a guinea pig. LOL! But really I am able to help others so much more because of what has happened to me. I kind of shocked me back into reality. I have been 2 1/2 years away from the doctor world with having my own personal doctor to care for me that thinks just like I do (Dr. B) so I never have to question. That lulled me back into letting my guard down. Dumb but I learned a lesson. Before Dr. B I would have asked the heck out of the doc as to what it was. Plus the other factor in this was it was my cousin whom I grew up with so I am sure that was part of why my guard was down too.

I am just glad to not be "peeing daggers" anymore. LOL!

Glad you mentioned CIPRO. Usually I take no medicines but a month ago

today in preparation for a prostate procedure my urologist prescribed

CIPRO in advance of the procedure to prevent any infections.

Unfortunately an infection resulted in spite of the CIPRO. So he had me

taking the CIPRO 2x daily plus 3 penecillin 500mgs per day. I went

through 3 weeks of this. During the last week I supplemented with

Lugols and tincture of iodine, orally Lugols 2 drops and topically for

skin lesions. I stopped with the CIPRO yesterday. These medications

have really brought down my energy levels. Thanks for posting the

article on CIPRO noow I know why.

I am feeling fatigued even on Bactrim. I just popped my 2 - 50 mg Iodoral

hoping for a boost. I just want a nap.

Would tincture of iodine help to fight with infections or is it not the

right type?

Like the stuff you buy at Walgreens for cuts? I would think to a certain

degree topically. I use liquid Lugol's topically.

Hi ,

I

find your background and experiences interesting to say the least. It might be

of encouragement to know of my background. Approximately 35 years ago I was to

the point that I didn’t care whether I got up in the morning, and had to

make a decision if I wanted to live. I’d basically been blown off by the

allopathic medical profession, not knowing what to do with me. Through life’s

events, and poor nutrition (probably including lack of iodine supplementation)

I got to the point where I had what I would now call chronic systemic

candidiasis. It manifested in me in feeling drunk all the time, foggy brained,

and towards the end of that cycle I had what might be called “fur”

growing on the exterior of my body. My hands were functionally useless from

arthritic type pain and so on and so forth. I certainly had to learn from

experience, basically trial and error with a lot of research, and I got myself

on the road to health. More to the story but, YUP! God teaches through

experience .YUP! guinea pig. YUP! very frustrating all of the folks out there

looking for suckers like me desperate for help that don’t have any more

of a clue than I did to bring me back to health. YUP! a lot of dumb mistakes. I

did and am regaining my health. You are too. And, the group that you formed is

very informative. Good for you!

Thought this might be of encouragement. Don’t lose heart!

Thank you Dennis. It's all a journey. I have learned that. There is no immediate gratification. I am assuming you read my story on my website www.naturalthyroidchoices.com where you will see that I was basically tossed aside and told that it wasn't my thyroid doing the horrible things to my body - well that's true it was the lack of it. I shudder to think what would have happened to me had I blindly followed along and gone for External Beam Radiation when the Endo knew RAI wasn't working (gee after 3 tries we finally figure this out). I am glad I broke out of the box and sought other options. I was scared but determined. I often wonder what Dr. Brownstein thought when I came with my list of 23 symptoms and a story of abuse and neglect from my doctors. The last RAI was performed on 5/23/05. My Endo informed me at my appt on 4/15/05 that I needed more RAI. I did not see him again until 8/13/05. I asked why he didn't want me sooner to make sure I was OK. You know what he said? "I am busy". I told him his patients needed him. To which he replied that there were so many new ones that needed him too. I asked why not close his practice and he refused. Shortly after this I was informed that the medical group he is part of has a quota for the number of patients he sees and how much he grows his practice. SICK!
