I believe it going into your thyroid. That's what's happened to me. My neck still hurts after not taking for over a day.

Yes, I have just recently started the iodine (Lugol's and SSKI) and have also noticed that my glands under my neck have been swollen, as well.

Iodine is an anti - bacterial, microbial, viral agent. It could be "cleaning out" the glands. I had it for a short time. Increase your vit c, magnesium and celtic salt. That should help.

Iodine goes to all glands and mucosal linings. The thyroid swells in an effort to catch the iodine in the blood stream - especially if it has been deficient.

You think it's going into my thyroid - I suppose that is a good thing.

You say it hurts when you DON'T take it though, and my glands feel

swollen (and neck) tongue feels tight (also has made my ears feel

blocked) when I DO take it. So maybe the iodine is making me hypo then?

Sorry I posted from my inbox and hadn't seen all the other replies.

I'm glad this is okay then. I'm taking about 2000vit C and sea salt

but it doesn't seem to help.

Will this tightness in my neck stop or will it feel like this while I

take iodine?

I would not take the kelp. Find out if it is clean of arsenic and halides. You may be blocking iodine receptors with the halides.

Steph

Re: Re: iodine causing glands up under neck

I decided to take a half tablet of the kelp iodine and my neck is again swollen. I'm reading that selenium is supposed to be taken with the iodine. Can anyone tell me if they had this same exact problem and took selenium and it went away? I"m kind of worried about the swollen neck feeling.

Oh that is good. For some teason I thought that I couldn't take

any vitamin, minerals etc at the same time. Is there anything in

particular I should not take at the same time as I take iodine. I was

told that I should take the iodine on an empty stomach and at least

an hour before & after taking any drugs - is this correct?

Well, I am taking magnesium and selenium and my neck is tight, glands

swollen so it hasn't fixed it for me. I'm also taking 3000mg Vitamin C,

B vitamins, oral magnesium and yesterday added ferritin (since the

iodine seems to have caused my ferritin levels to drop) and today added

zinc and copper to the mix as well (to help absorb the ferritin to get

my iron levels up) AND fermented Cod Liver Oil......I seems as if taking

supplements upset things and you have to play this balancing act until

you get it right.....

On a brighter note, I had an ultrasound done on my breast today and

there was nothing to speak of so the Iodine has definately pretty much

got rid of that problem in about 8 weeks! Awesome. I told the Doctor I

had used iodine and he said " ohhh don't do that...I'd take anything you

read on the internet with skeptisim! " Honestly - I'm there right

infront of him saying I had this large lump about 8cm and now there's

nothing and it took about 8 weeks and that I'd had the lump for ages etc

etc etc, and he wasn't interested in the slightest. I looked at all the

poor woman in the waiting room waiting for their mammograms and wanted

to tell them all not to do it - to go home and research about iodine.

Nose issues are common with bromide detox. Try doing a salt load as described on the iodine page on www.breastcancerchoices.org.
