Guest guest
What is the real safe dose range for potassium? Vj From: lbb116 <lorie_b@...>Subject: Reason Potassium supplements limited to 99mg.iodine Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 1:35 PM The FDA in its infinite wisdom restricted potassium to 99 mg insupplement form to protect people suffering from kidney disease fromgetting too much potassium. About 3 or so years ago, I wrote LetsLive magazine with that question and that was the response they gaveme about potassium supplements restricted to 99 mg. Totally bogus. Iwish I knew who to write to to get this stupid law changed. Becauseof it, people are taking meds to lower their bp, when all theyprobably really need is more potassium.Lorie

Our daily requirement is about 3000 mgs, so taking one or two tablets doesn't do much. You'll probably have to take 800 mgs or more a day to effect any change. It also helps to increase high potassium foods like bananas (400 mgs in one) and potatoes (500 mgs in one). " Dorothy
