I am a fairly educated person who gets so lost when the discussionfocuses on the science. What is clear to me is that we need studies, trials, whatever to clear this up. My first reaction to Dr. Furhmannwas what the heck is he talking about? It is so contrary to theinformation from Dr. Bihari. Then I wondered do we really know forsure that the larger dose is the wrong course?
Guest guest
O K I just had a thought......yah the light came on again, So if Dr. Bahari has removed a certain compounder from the preferred list, then the dose that we are on must be subject to precision in compounding. Therefore if we specify 4.5 mgs say and we actually get 6.0mgs and don't do as good. then why are we to believe that ten times the amount is better ie. 50mgs? Or was the compounder shorting others on the amount of naltrexone? I know that I do so terrible on anything over 3.0 that I would be leary of trying 50mgs. Also it would make my prescription that much harder to obtain and that much more money. Instead of twenty dollars a month for instance it would be three hundred . It just means that wehave to be careful in what we take from the discussion.I look forward to our scientific members sorting all this out andsharing it in simple language for us lay folks. Guest guest
Great but I am in Canada where our drugs are regulated to the lowest price anyway, yet Naltrexone(Revia here) is still going to be subject to a drs. scrutiny and if I ask for fifty mgs I know what he will say WHAT ABOUT THE LIVER FAILURE WARNING? So I would have to get it from Mexico pay the customs and excise people, pay postage or freight, and exchange. on a dollar is always about half ,I never read where they accept Canadian Dollars on par. So I guess if I were in Austria things would be different, but I am not. I have to make my 950.00 a month SSDA go a long ways. That is not true.Nemexin is very cheap. In Austria you get it free from your health insurance for 4,35 Euro, which you have to pay for all perscriptions The private price of one box Nemexin 50 pieces ,each 50 mg Naltrexon ist about 150 Euro. This is for 50 days. -- --- Original Message ----- From: Reg Kreil low dose naltrexone Sent: Tuesday, October 05, 2004 1:17 AM Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] Science behind it all!
