Guest guest
Hi Sheila, I had my ferritin, and B12 checked and they were both nice and high in the range. I don't believe my vit D was tested, but I will check and see if I can get it done. I did the spit test and it didn't grow legs, so don't think I have candida... I did have antibodies to my thyroid when I was first diagnosed about 10 years ago, but I haven't had it tested since, so I don't know what stage my hashimoto's has reached. Dr P said he could feel a lot of fibrous tissue in my thyroid, and so I think it may well have got to the end stage... I don't have amalgam fillings, although I did break a mercury thermometer a while ago, so maybe that is the problem, I did mention that to Dr P and he said that it doesn't matter if it is, as the treatment is still the same. I did manage to get Dr P on the phone this morning, and it seems he suspects adrenal, but cannot be sure, so he wants me to do a trial of adding in some hydrocortisone to the pred over the next few weeks and see how that goes. He thinkls that will help him know if it is the thyroid or adrenal causing the problem. I have made an appointment to talk to him on my return as he feels we need to sort this out, particularly if the raised dose isn't helping... Interestingly, I am feeling much better today (and I am writing this at 1pm and have no issues so far), althoguh I have woken up with pink eye! Thanks for your help Sheila, as always! Guest guest
I think if it had " got to the end stage " Leah, you wouldn't be able to feel any thyroid tissue whatsoever. Mine has been destroyed completely. Glad you have phoned Dr P and that he has confirmed my own suspicions. Let's hope the HC does the trick. Anyway, go on your holiday and have a wonderful time and don't worry about this problem.
