Guest guest
Hi Vicente, pleased to meet you! S100B is a calcium binding protein of astrocytes. It is currently considered as a good marker in multiple sclerosis. S100B levels are higher, both in plasma and CSF (cephalous spinal fluid) in MS sufferers respecting to healthy patients. I recently obtained a value lower than 0.08 micrograms/litre in plasma, but I have no additional information about what it means. My question is: could be that my inflammatory process is now stopped? Has anybody experience with this parameter? Thank you very much in advance pD: concerning to the magazine, you may check your mail... > > > : > > I'm terribly sorry, but I don't know what S100b is. Guest guest
CONGATULATIONS You are now the umpteenth person to confirm what I have thought all along; that if we can get a newly diagnosed person,or at least a person with a relativly low EDSS scale count, to start on LDN instead of one of those accursed CRAB drugs, then the progresion of M.S. will be stopped completely, as Dr. B. has claimed all along. I have a neighbor lady who is about a 1.0 maybe a 1.5 yet, so she is starting on Rebif even though she has seen what LDN can do. This makes me very sad as I know where she will be in ten years, yet her Neurologist is God in her books and of course he will not prescribe LDN. Sometimes I just want to scream... Reg. -------Original Message------- From: low dose naltrexone Date: 10/07/04 12:55:26 low dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] S100b improving Hi!Alter 6 months taking LDN, established in a dose of 3 mg/day, my mood keeps on being fantastic and fatigue is not relevant anymore. In this time, my EDSS has decreased from 1.5 to 1.0, and my MSFC from 1.51 to 0.72. But there's something perhaps more important:my serum S100b protein is in a concentration <0.08microg/l. According to my physician, this could mean that my inflammatory process is apparently stopped. Is this possible? Does anybody have results or experience concerning S100b? I'm so excited! Thanks, ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
