Guest guest
I remember first hearing about this several years ago. I know someone who is taking one of the statins for his MS condition with no signs of improvement. Maybe he's that one in a large number that it doesn't work for. I would just rather not take something that may do more harm than good. Funny how most docs don't have a problem with this off-label prescribing, but when it comes to LDN, they act like this off-label practice is unheard of! You must take a higher dose than that generally given for cholesterol problems. You also must follow the liver enzymes closely as there is the risk of hepatotoxicity. I don't think it has been 100% proven for humans, but the rats are doing great!Look it up on the internet! Barb

Guest guest
I just read the product monograph and Zocor is for cholesterol problems Does your Dr. know something we don't? Reg Lipid-altering agents should be used in addition to a diet restricted in saturated fat and cholesterol (see National Cholesterol Education Program [NCEP] Treatment Guidelines, below). In patients with CHD or at high risk of CHD, ZOCOR can be started simultaneously with diet. Reductions in Risk of CHD Mortality and Cardiovascular Events In patients at high risk of coronary events because of existing coronary heart disease, diabetes, peripheral vessel disease, history of stroke or other cerebrovascular disease, ZOCOR is indicated to: · Reduce the risk of total mortality by reducing CHD deaths. · Reduce the risk of non-fatal myocardial infarction and stroke. · Reduce the need for coronary and non-coronary revascularization procedures. -------Original Message------- From: low dose naltrexone Date: 10/18/04 13:46:15 low dose naltrexone Subject: RE: [low dose naltrexone] answer to add to list..(Celebrex). Guest guest
I am just now taking Actos which is a drug for us type two diabetics so that we can better use the insulin we make ,last I read it slows down the amount of attacks in RRMS,and there was some study being done on that. It wasn,t hard to get my Dr. to give me prescription even if I am SPMS . but is it ever expensive! I would not like to find out the retail cost in the States.
