I use lots of seaweeds. The last I checked, Dr. D said that they were

all good for O's except Irish moss.

It's cheaper to by your seaweeds from an Asain market; however, I have

read that most seaweed is treated with pesticides, while it is drying!

So the safest is to buy from the health food store, or online from

Maine Coast Sea Vegetables.

My favorite is dulse flakes. Dulse is very salty, and the flakes I use

instead of salt. I also like nori very much.

There's literally hundreds of varities of kelp, if you go to Japan you

can find them all. Dr. D recomends a certain kind, fucus, which he

sells as a supplement.

The fucus and other seaweeds have iodine, which is good for your

thyroid. I think alot of the seaweeds have calcium, iron, and other

minerals.

Any kind of seaweed can be added to a soup or stew. Or you can soak a

seaweed in water for a short time and add it to cooked vegetables.

Wakame seaweed is traditionally added to miso soup; from the dry state

to the wet it expands something like 10 times it's size, so be careful

wtih wakame. The other seaweeds expand only a little.

I am not aware of a good product. Maybe someone can help. If you are concerned then contact the manufacturer and ask them if they test for toxicity.

Seaweeds

Is seaweed okay to use, if so which one do you recommend? I know some are very high with contaminations. ThanksDeb
