Hi Daphne,

I certainly agree with your statement about conventional doctors not mentioning diet. The only reason that my husband is now doing the Swank diet is because we talked to a naturopathic doctor. I was wondering how many others do the diet. Since we are just getting started there are many things that we are not sure of.

I posted previously that my husband had optic neuritis back in July. He is 45 and that has been his only symptom, but he has a brother with m.s. and several first cousins . He is currently waiting for an MRI. I thought that people may be interested in hearing that even if his MRI shows lesions that he will not be put on a drug until he has a second MRI that shows more lesions developing.(This makes a lot of sense to me but it was not something that I had read about.) I was annoyed that the doctor said that if you pursue the testing that you are agreeing to treatment if you need it, and of course he meant one of the M.S. drugs. He said this because he knew that we had talked about my husband taking ldn ,if needed.

At least the homeopathic doctor looked into ldn will prescribe it if we want her to. She also has had MS for 19 years and was an emergency room doctor in Germany. She does the Swank diet and no MS drugs.

Thanks to everyone for all the great info on this site.(Any comments about the diet would be appreciated.) Donna
