Guest guest
You may remember some time ago I was asked a question about whether the parathyroids were completely removed from the porcine thyroid glands before being desiccated. This question was asked me by a doctor and I needed to get a definitive answer. It has taken a long time to get this, but today, I have finally received a response from the manufacturers of the thyroid powder. As the email was confidential, I have not copied all the details. Basically, I have been told that the raw material supplier only purchases “well trimmed” porcine thyroid glands that are devoid of extraneous tissues and fat. Pararathyroid glands are removed with the thymus glands during collection procedures at their slaughterhouses. Only “well trimmed” porcine glands are used in the production of the thyroid powder. He also said that organoleptic inspections are performed by their experienced technicians during the processing of the raw material. So only the pure thyroid glands are used in processing and turning it into an official Thyroid USP raw material (which is used in manufacturing our Nature-Throid™ and Westhroid™). Guest guest
Sheila, Was this the supplier for Forest? Can you give us a hint as to how you tracked them down? Were my speculations of any value? Chuck > ...I have > finally received a response from the manufacturers of the thyroid powder. As > the email was confidential, I have not copied all the details. Guest guest
I asked Afshin - the owner of International Pharmacy in the US if he could find the answer for me from Forest, who put him in touch with RLC (the suppliers of the raw material) who gave him the answer - after many weeks. Sheila Sheila, Was this the supplier for Forest? Can you give us a hint as to how you tracked them down? Were my speculations of any value?
