With my new Outlook, my messages showed who had written, the subject heading, when received and the size and time. Now, for some reason, and it must be something I have done, all I can see is in the first column 'Subject' - middle column 'Received' and third column 'Size'. Can somebody tell me what to do to get back my first column so I can see who has sent the message please.

Sheila,

Right click your mouse on the area just above all of your messages

that says 'size' 'date' 'subject heading' (on my computer the area is

light grey in colour).

When you right click your mouse, a list will appear.

Choose 'field chooser'. You will see a list of items appear in a

box.

Click on 'from' in the box that just appeared and hold your mouse

button down.

Drag the 'from' field that appeared within the box and place

the 'from' field where you want it to be (ie. next to the 'date' or

the 'subject heading' field in your inbox). let go of the mouse

button and Voila! You can now see who sent you the messages.

There is a faint marker on that line saying - "from subject, rec'd." place your curser on it and you may find you can slide these about and uncover what you need.

Hi Sheila,

Right click inside the header that says subject (actually any of the

three headers will work).

Select 'Customize Current View'.

Then choose 'Fields'.

'Available Fields' will be on the left.

'Show these fields in this order' will be on the right.

Select 'From' in the 'Available Fields'.

Click 'Add'.

If you like an icon (open or closed envelope) to see at a glance that

an email has been read, you can add it at this time too.

To arrange the order the columns are displayed in your Outlook, just

left click, drag and drop them into the order you want...OR...select

the one you want to move, then click 'Move Up' or 'Move Down' until

it's moved to the order you want.

Then click 'OK'.

There may be some slight variation in the labeling of these

instructions (slight variations from one version of Outlook to the

next), but the general meaning of all will be the same.

Oh

Ollie and P - many, many thanks. I would never have thought of doing this in a

hundred years. It now works beautifully and I can see who has sent me the

message.

Another

little problem. I have somebody from the Isle of who is wanting to join

our forum desperately, and she does not have a Account. However, when

trying to register with , although it doesn't ask for her address, it asks

for her post code and every time she types it in and clicks next, the next box

tells her the Post Code is not accepted in this country. She has tried various

post codes, with the same answer. She telephoned me and I gave her my post code

to try, but again, it will not accept it. She is trying to register with the UK

and Ireland co.uk and not the .com. Has anybody any ideas why this

is and what she can do to get registered with please.

Hi

Sheila,

Just above the list of messages there is a row of icons- try clicking the sheet

of paper- I think that should fix it
