Guest guest
Hi (again) Jan, Have you considered having the compounding done using your tablets or do you want to try pure naltrexone powder plus known filler instead of whatever filler is in the Revia? The reason I ask is that the compounded capsules I got from the woman I mentioned yesterday were made up by The Green Dispensary from her husband's Revia tablets and were only something like $32.50 for 100 x 3 mg capsules, whereas my own have cost me $179 (Australian of course for those of you in America who just fell over at the cost!) each time because I didn't provide my own tablets. Unless you specifically want to try the pure naltrexone powder as a starting point then using your own Revia tablets is probably a much cheaper way to go. (I must admit someone else from Melbourne posted on here that they got theirs much more cheaply from a different pharmacy somewhere here, so I will have to check that out when the time comes.) Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for that. I just spoke to the pharmacy and they can only offer compounding with the Revia as the source of the Naltrexone. That's all they can get in Australia. I don't want to use the Revia because I suspect there is something, colour, or filler in Revia that caused my symptoms to get so much worse as well as allergic responses. I would have to go with the pure naltrexone 'cos I don't want to go through that again. I'm assuming there is somewhere in the world (USA?) that offers the pure naltrexone for compounding. I'm also wondering what dose to try. Perhaps 1mg so I can start low and build up to a more average dose if I tolerate them OK. Then there's the question of what to fill them with. I read to avoid the calcium carbonate. Any other suggestions or suppliers info would be most welcome. Are there any Medical professionals in Australia that are savvy about LDN? I'd really like to talk through this with someone who understands. Pharmacy Direct is probably the cheapest place to get prescriptions but I think the shop is in Sydney. They have a website www.pharmacydirect.com.au and you can purchase online if you send them a prescription. I use them for for vitamins etc. but not scripts. Guess it's OK if you don't mind waiting for your prescriptions to be mailed out. But you can buy mine cheaper !!!!! Make me an offer Thanks, Jan. --- In low dose naltrexone , " covo@m...
