Hi, Rida. My 16 year old son was diagnosed with MS at age 13, and after 2 years of Avonex and Rebif, we found LDN. He has been using it since June, and is doing wonderfully. As for Ontario, I'm married to an Ontarian, so I have lots of friends there. I have one in Orillia who gets her LDN script from Dr. in Wisconsin via phone consultation, and her script is sent express post from Skip's Pharmacy in Boca Raton Florida. If you need numbers or any more info, just let me know. I don't have them with me at work, but I can get them for you tonight! Hope this helps. And I hope LDN does for your husband what it has done for my son. He's living the life of a teen age boy for the first time in 3 years. Take care! Yes, my hubby and I are very interested to get more info or numbers from you as regards LDN. BTW, I believe there is a pharmacy in Toronto that is listed by Dr Bihari as being able to supply LDN. I do not have the name of the pharmacy right now but perhaps you have seen it in this website too. This would indeed save so much time and trouble than to get it all the way from Florida. Everyone seems to mention about phone consultations.......is that a necessity prior to purchasing LDN or can one just directly approach the neuro for a script? And what does 'filler' mean???? Would love to hear from you with anything you can share with us. Take care and God bless. Rida

I am not sure if you can get a script from a US doctor and have it filled in Toronto. Maybe someone else could chime in on this one??? You are right, there is a reputable compounding pharmacy in TO, but I am sure that if it were possible to use it with a US doc prescribing, my friend from Orillia would be doing that. I will ask her today, but I think this has been discussed on this or other boards before. I'm 99% sure a doctor has to have an Ontario license to get a script filled in Ontario. We tried with our PCP to get the script for LDN for my son. He was intially willing, but wanted to discuss it with his neuro buddy first, and the neuro said no. Soooooo, we presented our neuro with all the info, he blew us off and claimed he was " well versed in LDN " and that it had to be administered in a hospital by i.v., which we knew was bull. So, we didn't want to wait any longer, since the Rebif was taking him down fast, and we went the phone consult route with Dr. in Wisconsin. His number is 608-785-0038, and the office is only open on Monday, Thursday and Friday. It will probably take a bit to schedule the conference, as he is really busy these days. They will fax you the info to fill out and return to them, so if you have a fax available, have the number ready when you call. If the price hasn't changed (and it has been going up lately) it should be $150 US for the first consult, which you can either mail to him or pay by credit card at the time of the call. (I have never even attempted to file with my insurance...It's a small price to pay after the copay every month for the Rebif...) Follow up consults are in 2 months, then every 6 months, and the fee for those is $100 US. We use Skip's for two different reasons. He helped me considerably when I began researching LDN. Another reason is that of all my research and every posting that I have read, I have never heard of anyone having trouble with LDN coming from his compounding pharmacy, and that is what I want for my son. His phone number is 561-218-0111 (the toll free won't work from Canada) and his fax number for scripts is 561-218-8873. He will be glad to talk to you if you need more info, just ask for Skip. He's a really nice man, and very informative. Fillers are used because when they break down the Naltrexone to divide it into the smaller dosages it is a very minute amount, so fillers are added to fill the inside of the capsule. The type filler used seems to play a big part in people's reaction to LDN, so keep this in mind. The four kinds of fillers that I know of are acidophillus, avicel, calcium carbonate and lactose. From my research, I've decided that most people seem to have less problems with avicel or acidophillus, but it is truly a matter of each individuals body, so this is up to you. Skip's uses avicel for my son and it works wonderfully. Hope this helps. And maybe someone else here will have the answer on the US doc/Canadian pharmacy dilemna. There seem to be alot of alternative medicine docs in Southern Ontario, and I bet if you checked around, you could dig one up who would be willing to prescribe it for your husband. Good luck!
