Guest guest
Yes, my daughter has huge mood swings. Very emotional and much more sensitive. I can almost pinpoint a fever days before it comes because of her emotions. She is 5 1/2 and before I knew about this My mom was sure this fever syndrom was somehow hormonal. Coming monthly and her emotions. Thought maybe her hormones were out of wack at an early age causing her fevers. She was so " PMS " acting. My mom still calls it that time of the month when we speak to her and tell her Leara is having another one of her fevers. I kept thinking wow if she is like this as a baby can't imagine what the teen years has in store for us when PMS actually does hit. It has to be very difficult for a teen boy to deal with. So Sorry to hear and know your not alone. > > does anyone have a child who handles all this sysdrome with mood > swings. my fonz even at his age of 13 . its like pms he crys at a > drop of a hat when his attack is comming. the dr says its normal but > its tough and i forget that its this thing going on. i > sometimes get mad and i have to walk away and remember its not him its > his body playing games on him. i just love him so much that i can't > stand to watch his missery . did you notice that with a child with a > cronic illness that you become very close and over protective. or is > it just me. all the stuff i have read about all this has scared me. > i have gone for 13 years not knowing if there was anyone in this world > going threw the same thing that alfonso and i are. he was happy to > know there are other kids out there. thanks char >

Guest guest
You know I think that they just quit doing studies on older kids, because for one I think that they quit going to their ped dr. and another some is money. When a child comes of age they can't afford to pay for specialists. But good luck on the teachers theirs going to be some who understand and some who won't. if they can't see it it doesn't exist. your little one is fine let her handle it the way she can. i find i am always telling fonz how much i love him and what a great kid he is . they need to know they are special take care chicks ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
My daughter also is very particular to the way things are and supposed to be and if they alter she has huge melt downs. I use to blame it on my husbands genetics as he is very particular about things. Never considered it could be possiabley related to her moods and . It helps to understand that some of their childhood quirks are not always intentional misbehaved, but actual issues they can't help. She is only in Pre-K and have not even tried explaining to her teachers at this point. Thought it might cause her more problems than good, becausing of setting her up for failure with a stereotype for future classes. But would most deffinately address it when causing her further or more significant problems at school. She has missed alot of days and her Dr just continues to write school excueses > > o my God. fonz is nuts about routine nothing can change. more around not > feeling good .. that's what gets me no one understands. his 4 grade teacher > wanted him checked for everything. she was sure he had something. she had a > list for the school therapist my dr. had to write a letter to put in his > file. so she would back off. he has an iep now. she messed him up so bad even > embarrassed him in class because it hurt to sit still the way she wanted. 6 > grade now not much has changed. good luck chicks > > > > ************************************** > See what's free at http://www.aol.com. > > >
Guest guest
I have continued to look for that magical age when it will all go away. But when I first discoverd this and online research years ago, everything I read said they usually grew out of it by 5 years old. My daughter has now reach that ripe age of 5 1/2 and well here we are still having the fevers. Now I have joined this group, and I have read about parents with teens who are still having the fevers. And your mention of the growing out of it by 10. It has been very discouraging to me. I am also amazed to find out that if there are teens with this that it has been around that long and how many people actually have it. Wander how old it is and if it has been around forever and people have just never aknowledged it before. Then if there are adults today who still have symptoms. All you ever hear about is the children. > > hi everyone thanks for the info. you know all the papers on say it > should go away by 10. there are so many things that goes on with this beautiful > child. that i never know whets next. how many years is he going to have to > go threw this. how will children like ours handle teen years. will they have > more breakdowns then other teens? how are they going to get threw high > school. i am having so much trouble just trying to get him to the 7th grade. he > misses so much school now the stress has got to be overwhelming. my dr. has > seen so few case and never this old. you know how patients come and go. he > just doesn't know, he said will take it as it goes. the specialist just smiles > an says he' ll need therapy. what about us parents will we need therapy too > lol. char. > > > ************************************** > See what's free at > http://www.aol.com. > > >
Guest guest
Hi I am worried about my moods, sometimes I feel really irritable and its awful and then it seems to pass, could this be the HC? I have read it can cause mental problems but I think thats only in high doses, I never seem to be on an even keel, I think the way I feel makes me irritable and in a bad mood, could it be lack of thyroxine? Is it just the whole hypo thing causing this? I am wondering how quick I can increase the thyroxine? I am only on 50mcg because of taking HC but I wonder if my moods are anything to do with that and not the HC?
