Guest guest
LDN is contra-indicated if you will be using opiate based pain killers. Depending on the location and extent of the biopsy procedure you may not need codeine, vicodon, etc, in which case the LDN shouldn't be a problem - based on all I've read here. I had one lobe of my thyroid removed in 1999 and used liquid Tylenol for the pain. It works fast, and it was adequate for my needs. And the fast return of my relatively clear thinking was a plus. I was not on LDN at the time, so that wasn't an issue, but I really don't like feeling drugged and was very relieved to get by with just the Tylenol suspension. Hopefully you can talk with your doctor ahead of time and see what will be used for controlling any pain you may experience. Best of luck to you, and although it is no doubt slim comfort, most biopsies do come back benign... I'll be thinking of you. I recall reading something about that here, but can't find the info just now. I am taking 3mgs for the last 6 weeks and I was wondering if I had to stop taking it before a procedure like this. AND what can happen if I didn't stop in time? This all came about rather suddenly and aside from being scared to death about the possiblity of cancer, I am now scared about the LDN and its effects on any surgical procedure including biopsies. Nothing is definite and the Doctor said it is a very good chance it isn't cancer, which is great!!.... But still my head is still spinning here as my mother had it twice!! Did I make any sense? I am not thinking straight over the last day or so, so I apologize for any confusion. Any answers will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance! Guest guest
LDN has a short half-life, if you stop taking LDN, most of it would be out of your system within 24 hrs. Guest guest
This could be a very scary time for you I am amazed that you are as coherent as you are. I agree with Aegis... LDN is very rapidly dispelled from your system, from personal experience I know that three days without LDN is like right back to the beginning for me. But on the flip side if you were taking LDN for any amount of time should you not be protected from cancer? Now not to negate the seriousness of this but will not the biopsy results be most interesting? I would think that the protective effects of LDN would be in your favour.
