Funnily enough angel, I stress dosed today and feel quite fine. Maybe I am not on enough. Its a tad worrying though, I am going to be doing something around 35-40mg today, if thats my dose requirement it is high in my opinion compared with the addisons sites. I usually do about 30mg, and if I sleep late I get bad so I have to wake up to dose. I feel awefully tied down and worried that I am so dependant on the stuff. Mind you, I must have needed it in the first place as I started having funny turns before the Armour. The problem is the doc never did any proper tests and now I am on it I can't get tested. Ah well, c la vie. lotsa luv Dawnx >

Guest guest
Dawn, Have a look at the bacteriality site. I'm not sure whether you saw the post about it the other day. If you look back you may able to find a link to the lecture on autoimmune diseases by Amy Proal. otherwise it's bacteriality.com I can't remember whether you are autoimmune Dawn, but if you are, knowing how good you are at undestanding the science, you may find it of interest regarding why you might need a high dose... I can't explain it as I only just about understand it, but the crux of it is that there is a suspicion that it is a bacterial biofilm infection that causes all autoimmune diseases, and somehow their action on the vit d part of immune system causes the receptor sites for T3 and cortisol to be blocked. They specifically mention these in their main explanation...Maybe your cortisol receptors are blocked? Only a thought... Guest guest
Have you read about the low vitamin D/thyroid connection on our website www.tpa-uk.org.uk ? Guest guest
That sounds very plausible and why I need more hc than I expected maybe. I am feeling a tad better since I stress dosed but i didn't want to be on 40mg hc constantly. I am afraid if I have an accident or shock or illness with vomiting I will be sce***d as I don't have an emergency kit due to not being officially prescribed. Now on this dose my adrenals are going to be supressed. Anyway I suppose I won't have to worry about it if I want to get well, it is better to have the start of a life than living in that state. I do take D3 daily but how much is getting in due to my digestive system being an unknown quantity is debatable. I am looking for the article on the site but cannot find it, still lookin lol. I will take an extra pill of D per day and see if it helps me any. Anything is worth trying to be honest. luv ya Shiela and thanks hon Dawnx
