Hi Emma,

Yep, LDN is readily available here - plenty of us are using it. The

difficulty you face is that faced by people worldwide which is finding a

doctor who will prescribe it for you. You are unlikely to have any success

with your neuro unless he/she is one in a million but hopefully you have a

GP who can think outside the square.

Where in Oz are you?

low dose naltrexone

Subject: [low dose naltrexone] ? LDN in Australia ?

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can help me. My name is Emma and I was

diagnosed in February with RR MS. I am interested in trying LDN but

am not quite sure how to go about doing it in Australia. Can I get

it here or will I have to get it in the US? If I have to get it in

the US, are there any legality issues with importing it into

Australia?

Hi ,

I am in Sydney. I received some info about Roper & Parry's Chemworld

Chemist in Lismore. Have you heard about them? Apparently they have

been approved by the TGA to do LDN for MSer's. Now, as you say, I do

the hard part of finding someone to prescribe. I am pretty sure that

my neuro won't come to the party, but I have a very good

relationship with my GP and plan to broach the subject with him

tomorrow.

Cheers!

Emma

Hi Emma,

I am down in Melbourne so don't know them but they are on the PCCA

(Professional Compounding Chemists of Australia) list of members at

http://www.pccarx.com.au/Pharmacy.htm so should be OK. It would

surprise me if they had specifically been approved to do LDN for MSers

per se.

If you have a good relationship with your GP then hopefully he will do

the right thing by you and prescribe it for you.

Cheers,
