Bromide in bread

I have read many articles on the web and people writing about all

bread is tainted with bromide, so I decided to find out for myself if

they do. I emailed the company who's bread I am currently using to

ask first hand if they use bromide in their products. Here is the

response from Charlie Moon, VP Technical Services/Quality

Assurance/Regulatory

for Flower Foods which makes Nature's Own bread products. Here is

his response to the question " does your company use any bromide or

bromate products in your bread? " :

Our Nature's Own products do not contain potassium bromate. In an

abundance of caution, Flowers removed this ingredient from our

formulas back in the early " 1990's " . There are no bromide type

ingredients in the Nature's Own products.
