Guest guest
Has anyone here with MS ever had trouble with their thyroid? I had read in the past that some researchers thought there may be some link to thyroid function. The reason I brings this up is that when I was around 12, my doctor told me that my thyroid gland was not functioning as it was supposed to. I wasn't growing at all and this was for some reason how he knew something was wrong. After a blood test confirmed the thyroid issue, I was put on thyroid pills for a short time and then I began to grow again. After that I never took them again and I continued to grow normally. Now after reading once again about MS and a possible thyroid link, I can't help but wonder. Could this be somehow related to that past incident? If so why didn't the doctors see it. I know they tested for thyroid but they said the test came back normal. Anyway, if anyone can give me some info in this area, I'd greatly appreciate it. Guest guest
I had the left lobe of my thyroid removed due to benign tumors about nine months before my most severe exacerbation. You can have normal levels of thyroid hormones and still be in trouble. There are conditions that reduce your body's ability to take up the hormone and use it...
