Guest guest
I'm not exactly sure what neurologic bladder really means. During my flares, I had horrible urgency and frequency. At one point I was Having To Go 2-3 times an hour, although not much came out, it sure was enough if I didn't run to the bowl. When it first started happening it really unnerved me. I managed to figure out how I was feeling 5 minutes and eventually 10 minutes before it would happen and I'd start making my way there. On the 11th day of LDN I had to make a trip with a few stops; it was after 4 hours when I realized I hadn't gone, and didn't even have to, but I did before my hour drive home. During that summer last year while camping, so after 3 months of being on LDN, I had some stretches I couldn't believe, it was like I was a camel all of a sudden. 8 hours, 9 hours, 11 hours... 3 times in a 28 hour period. The one common thing LDN seems to help with is our MS bladder issues. May not be total perfection, but by comparison, I think it's the one thing most of us are experiencing. I do recall hearing of some UTI's people have had (I think most female) who were on LDN, but I don't remember the details. I never had a UTI and cringe at the thought of that C word. I can't even type it... sorry. I hope LDN will give him some benefit. Good luck. Hi all, My son has RR and has developed a neurologicbladder condition which now requires an indwellingcatheter. Along with that have come repeated UTI's, to the point of having to go to the ER for IVantibiotics almost every month because the "bugs" havebecome resistant to oral dosage. Has anyone hadexperience with ldn in such a case?Thanksine
Guest guest
ine I have SPMS and since LDN.really wonderfull results with my bladder problems but not much else, but also no-not even once have I had a UTI. I asked my new Naturopath why not and he flat out said the amount of Vitamin "C" I was taking protected me from that. I guess if you take a very large amount of "C" the excess which is excreted protects against UTI's. This is not the son chewables brand either he claims there is way to much garbage in that type, ie sugar.and flavoring. Guest guest
I hope it works well for him, keep us posted. ----- Original Message ----- From: ine s low dose naltrexone Sent: Wednesday, October 27, 2004 21:49 Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] LDN and neurologic bladder? Hi Larry, Thanks for the reply. It sounds like whatmy son has gone through, but in his case it becamevery serious and he nearly had kidney failure. Webarely caught it in time. The C word has helped inmany ways, but brings with it many infections. Itsounds as though you have excaped with ldn -- andcongratulations to you! If we had had the rightinformation...but anyway, better late than never. Ithink even at this stage ldn might help him--otherwise they are talking about surgeries. The"they" means the Veterans Administration medicalcenter -- not always the sharpest knives in the draweralthough they have been helpful in some ways. He willbe seeing a well known neuro in two weeks to get abetter opinion, but we'll start the ldn whetheranybody likes it or not. Not much to lose at thispoint, and maybe much to gain.Good luck to you, thanks again.ine
