Knowing what I know about floride I would not use it one bit. I have taken my kids off all floride as well. Google it, it really is not great stuff. But there is a lot of press claiming it is, (in small amounts)

Sorry just my two cents. Marcie

Yes, I agree. I have studied fluoride for years...it is a by product of the aluminum industry..a better name for it is rat poison, literally , sodium fluoride is used for rat poison. It is linked to mottled teeth and cancer. google fluoride and you will be surprised and alarmed.

You need to stop the fluoride. It is toxic stuff. You are not ingesting enough iodine to combat what you are doing. Why are you rising with that? It has not been proven that fluoride makes strong teeth. A high mineral natural diet does that.

Fluoride ion is a goitrogen, and was used half a century ago to suppress overactive thyroids (Graves disease). Now we feed it to our enitre population in our drinking water, and wonder why thyroid disease is rampant??

I would second this, as well. I was told

long ago to avoid fluoride by my allergist. Fluorine is below chlorine on the

periodic chart – means more toxic, as I understand – also, heard

somewhere that they use fluoride (or form of) to harden ceramics – doesn’t

mean it’ll do anything positive for TEETH. Also, when my mom was ill,

she was hospitalized and they asked her about dentures. We live in Washington State. She was not quite 60. She told

them her teeth were her own. The surprised nurse said, “Hm. Well, you weren’t

born here, were you?” Nope. My mom was born and raised on a farm in Idaho. The nurse felt

it was more mineral exposure that made stronger teeth.

Fluoride, chlorine, bromide...all compete for the spot where iodine is

supposed to connect to on certain cells in your body, and they usually

win out!

I would STAY as far away from fluoride and the other above mentioned

elements as is possible. Don't be fooled by the sales pitch that

fluoride makes for strong teeth or any other nonsense. The supposed

health benefits of fluoride are FAR outweighed by the hazards and

health risks they pose.

I do not have time to bake bread as I once used to. But, I have found

Pepperidge Farms breads have unbromated flour breads, which I buy. I

buy non-fluoridated toothpastes, and never drink chlorinated water.

Anyhow...thats my take on it.

I discussed this issue, stronger teeth thru fluoridation of our drinking water, and after some discussion, he admitted that it is perhaps necessary, or benficial when forming teeth as children, but as adults, less exposure, say with toothpaste, or rinses, periodic treatments may be sufficient. He admitted that drinking it daily was probably not necessary, and was totally unaware of any negative impact all halogens (Fl, Br, Cl, not I) had on human health, in particular, thyroid function.

I didn't know that fluoride was given back when to suppress

hyperthyroidism. BUT....

that would make total sense. Fluoride blocks the receptor sites of

where iodine goes to make thyroid hormones. There are T1, T2, T3 and

T4 thyroid hormones as we know. The number indicates the number of

iodine molecules attached to make the hormone. Iodine is lower on the

periodic chart of elements than is fluorine, chlorine, or bromine.

They " pull rank " of a not so nice kind and plug the receptor sites

where iodine is supposed to go. When this happens it makes the thyroid

not work as it should. Too many of these receptor sites get filled

with fluorine, chlorine or bromine and you get a thyroid that doesn't

function at optimal levels. THUS...

The reason what you stated below makes sense.

mouth washes destroy good bacteria as well as bad, I would not use them. drinking iodine in water kills germs in the mouth , so much healthier and safer

The American Pediatric Assn. announced recently (few years back)to

that parents SHOULD NOT use fluoridated bottled water to make up their

babies' formula (apparently local tap is ok -- even with the fluoride,

chloride, chloramines, etc). So much for fluoride being needed for

forming teeth. My ped. told me to use tap water when making my

daughter's formula for the fluoride (this was before they started

adding it to bottled water). I absolutely refused. I used distilled

water. My daughter began cutting teeth at 4 months and by 14 months

she had all her baby teeth in. They came in 4 at a time. By the time

she was in kindergarten, she already had 4 permanent teeth coming in.

It's nice to see my mother's instinct was confirmed by the

establishment.
