If you don't mind my asking, how did you feel worse? Why were you taking the monocycline?

I have been reading all the postings on this board and others

regarding Minocycline. Is it just me, or is anyone considering the

fact that minocycline is the same class of drugs that has been used

to treat Lyme's disease for years???

Dr. recently sent me info for research testing for my son

regarding Lyme's, which is something I have always felt he might have

rather than OR in addition to MS. This info that Dr. sent me

also coincided with an article I read from an allergy research group

expounding on this particular mode of testing, and claiming that Lyme

is rampantly misdiagnosed (as MS and other equally devastating

diseases), and that more than 90 % of the US population would test

positive for Lyme is tested with this particular test. The article

also claims that Lyme is transmitted in many more ways than

originally thought (i.e. ticks), and explains the detox and treatment

really well in laymans terms. (We lost count at 50 mosquito bites

when my son initially became ill over 3 years ago!) Arlene, did you

ever post that article here? I cannot find it to save my life, and I

know you sent it to me at one point. It was in the January 2004

newsletter at www.allergyresearchgroup.com when I initially saw it,

but you had sent me a link from somewhere else so that I could find

it again. I think it would be of interest to alot of people to post

the link here, if you still know where it is. I printed it, but the

link is not listed on my printed pages!

I didn't have my son tested yet. I don't know how much faith I would

have in a diagnosis produced under research phase testing. I just

find it very ironic that all this talk regarding minocycline is going

around now, and at the same time, I find it very promising. This is

more " outside the box " thinking, and I'm very encouraged by it.

Let's just hope it doesn't die in its tracks. I understand it is a

relatively inexpensive medication, so I'd hate to see it fall through

the cracks if it has real potential!
