Guest guest
I have seen a lot of post re Calcium Carbonate filler. I have a question but first the background. My wife has MS and has been on LDN for about 6 Months. She was progressing downhill fast and on the 4 Day that stopped dead and she also benefited dramatically from spasm reduction. She has moved from absolute agony to discomfort because of the spasm reduction effect of LDN on her crumbling spine (some people have to have everything - surly MS on its own would have been sufficient). The problem we have is that or with a mild cold or whatever the spasm reduction of LDN is reduced - back to the agony for a day or so. We now just seemed to have been given the right solution to this by an MS nurse - take diazepam for a day or two till the cold is gone and LDN works again. I think we need to go through the cycle once or twice before we are sure this is the solution We started with a Calcium Carbonate filler because that was the advise we were given. We use Irmat NY and as I say we would appear to be getting a good result with 2.8Mg. I checked out the filler issue with a biochemist and his view was that Calcium Carbonate would take longer to dissolve in the body but when it did it would still produce a quick result i.e. not slow release but delayed release. Because the delayed release occurred this would mean if we change filler we would have to re-establish the correct dose. We ended up at 2.8 because one 3Mg tab seamed to work fine but 2 X 1.5 seamed too much. We therefore guessed that the reason was slight dose inaccuracy in the pills and plumped for 2.8 to give a safety margin for future batches. It has worked well so far. Theories are all very well - you have to start somewhere. All of us trying LDN even if we have the support of our doctors know most doctors would disagree. It is however results that mater Has anyone any experience of needing to change dose with a change of filler. If so when changing from Calcium Carbonate to whatever say Lactose are we likely to have to move up or down? Dave
