Guest guest
Hi As you are seeing Dr P in January I would forget about this capitalist healer ho hum...... Worrying about him is just stressing your adrenals further which makes his contribition counter-productive in my book. Let him go and wait to see The Man....... He is wonderful and all you could possibly want from a doctor, kind, sensitive, intuitive etc. Let the other guy go and start the new year with a much better class of doctor. All will be well. Enjoy your Crimbo in the meantime. Mo ( from Dublin) xx > > I was dx as hypothyroid with quite bad adrenal fatigue by this doc I > am seeing here in Ireland at the moment. Guest guest
Hi Lynn I think you need to stop your Armour for a week or so and take only your Adrenal supplements. Your adrenals are not able to cope with stress and taking Armour is giving them even more stress. Cortisol is needed to help the thyroid function and to convert the T4 into T3, so give your adrenals a chance to 'heal' before introducing thyroid hormone replacement. This particular doctor may not be happy to prescribe you HC because he knows the GMC are after him, and he doesn't want to add a further problem that could cause them to question his prescriptions. We KNOW the NHS mainstream doctors do not recognise the thyroid/adrenal connection so he could well want to keep his nose clean for the moment. Write down all the questions you need to ask him and make sure you get answers - it is a case of being assertive - this is your health and you need to get well asap. I am sure that if you come clean with him and tell him you are unable to afford to keep seeing him but would like to go down the self-treating road and that you have done your homework, he should understand. Tell him you have read and understand about the thyroid/adrenal connection and that you are experiencing it first hand and that you are aware it is your adrenal fatigue that is stopping your Armour. It is much cheaper for you to buy HC without prescription than buying it privately through him or any other private doctor, the same as it is cheaper to buy Armour from the US without prescription than you are probably paying him. Always remember it is YOUR health - if it is not being looked after properly by doctors, who should know what to do, you have no option but to look after it yourself. Luv - Sheila He is very friendly and pleasant. However he is not overly keen on HC. And he never even mentioned the tests I want even though he did loads of others. Funny but if I had started out thinking of him as a tough nut I would have been more assertive. However I feel like now it's all so pleasant between us that I am embarrassed to all of a sudden get tough and demanding. I am also worried that he will think that the crisis I have had is because I am on armour and that I would do better on synthetic. Finally even if he does agree that I need the HC and all that he is wildly expensive and I can't afford to see him every month so will need to self treat. How can I tell him that I will have to self treat and check in with him every six months or so? .._,___
Guest guest
Hey All Appointment went well. He even suggested HC before I got the chance to. He said he uses adrenal glandulars first because they are softer. He alluded to the political reasons. However he had no qualms about giving me HC at all. The HC was dirt cheap and only 7.99 euro for 100 so that was fine. He says that I can call him anytime I have a problem. So it's turned out good. I am happy with his treatment but very nervous that HC will make me balloon in weight. Fingers crossed........
Guest guest
I had a good visit with him. He prescribed me HC no problem. I didn't even have to ask . In fact he has read Safe Uses of Cortisol and had it in his office. He says that he only uses the glandulars so much because they are " soft " so he tries them first. He also alluded to the politics of the situation. He also says I can call him anytime if/when I do the self treating. The HC was dirt cheap, only 7.99 euro for 100 10mg tablets so that was fine. Guest guest
That is excellent news Lynn. Don't worry about the HC making you balloon in weight - this is only when you take very high doses and you should be taking only physiological doses of HC to help boost your adrenals. Can you tell us what dose he started you on and what he suggested about increasing? Luv - Sheila Hey All Appointment went well. He even suggested HC before I got the chance to.
