Guest guest
I am hypothyroidism, and have been on the T4 treatment for 1 month, now on 50 mcg per day , but sometimes, I caught by diarrhoea. Is there anyone know the reason and the solution?
Guest guest
I do not know why but when I am on thyroxine alone I have the pattern of being constipated and then have a day of the runs. Problem is I never know when that day is, and it is difficult making appointments etc. When I was on Armour this was not the case, I was completely normal and regular. Now that I have been back on thyroxine it has started all over again. Lilian
Guest guest
>>>probably not enough thyroxine cos going from 5 grains of Armour to 125mcg thyroxine will send you hypo.<<< I know it and you know it, but those who you would expect should know it (GP and consultant) seem not to And it has only just been put up to 125mcg. Guest guest
Hi Lilian I know you have probably done all you can anyway and this is only a thought, but have you printed off the dosage equivalents from the armour thyroid website and shown your GP or Endocrinolgist just how much you were taking compared with what they are now giving you. Guest guest
Its amazing what symptoms you get from being hypo, I never realised how complex it was until I got it. It effect every single organ in the body and doesnt just make you tired, but when I was diagnosed I had nothing explained to me I had to find it all out myself, I was just given the pills and sent on my way--- On Wed, 10/9/08, chrischids <no_reply > Hi LilianIt sounds like IBS, probably not enough thyroxine cos going from 5 grains of Armour to 125mcg thyroxine will send you hypo. Happened to me when my dose was lowered from 200 to 150. Have no problems at all on 200.Chris>> I do not know why but when I am on thyroxine alone I have the pattern of being constipated and then have a day of the runs. Guest guest
Lilian, I would go back on your Armour and when it comes to blood tests, stay off it for as long as possible before you have your blood drawn. You simply cannot go on like this. Do you remember what happened to June after her doctor stopped her Armour and put her back onto l-thyroxine only - she has still not got back to normal and having many problems. Don't let this doctor do this to you when you have been taking Armour for over 5 years. This is quite appalling. Guest guest
Hi Fragrance, I have only heard about diarrhoea being a symptom of too much levothyroxine, but as you have been only taking 50 mcgs for 1 month, I doubt it is that, unless you are making enough thyroxine and don't need extra. You might be having a reaction to one of the fillers. Do you have an allergy to lactose or Wheat? Hypothyroidism usually goes along with being constipated. Guest guest
No I haven't, but if I did they would go beserk. I have already told them that I was on 150mcg thyroxine when I was so ill, even though my TSH was low, but my T3 below range and T4 low in range, and had to go to private doctor. But they still insist I try 125 mcg now for two months. They are too arrogant or ignorant to want to understand or could understand. Guest guest
Hi Lilian Beserk or not, it may just show how much your body can take. If you show them along with any blood tests you had they can compare the bloods with those when you were on 150 before. Chris > > No I haven't, but if I did they would go beserk. Guest guest
Hi Fragrance, Does your local population have an intolerance of Lactose (from milk)? You may not have the enzyme 'lactase'. best wishes Bob > I am hypothyroidism, and have been on the T4 treatment for 1 month,
Guest guest
Ditto - now anything with T4 in it gives me the runs.. ANYTHING... natural or synthetic.. but I can now drink organic bean coffee as long as I only take tertroxine (cytomel) for thyroid.. the SR stuff gives me the runs too.. funnily enough, tertroxine doesn't stress my adrenals one iota.. thankfully!!! :-) Cat > > one of my low cortisol symptom (adrenal fatigue), is the runs.
