Guest guest
Hi Jen, your TSH is still too high, it needs to 1 or less for you to feel well, 3.92 is within the range but not OPTIMAL, you may have to use that word if you have an arguement with GP lol. Good on you for upping your dose coz GP wasn't listening, you def need more than you are taking, just be careful that you raise too quickly or by too much. What was your TSH and other results before starting on thyroxine? Ruth X > > Hi > > I didn't want to get into the numbers stuff but here goes. Guest guest
Thanks Ruth. I don't know what it was before I started on thyroxine and he was a bit cagey about me asking for even the last results so I didn't like to push it any further. I was trying to make sense of the numbers from a book I have and was just confusing myself even more (brain is a bit foggy - has been for ages) so thought posting here would be the best place to get an explanation. My bloods in 4 weeks time will be the first on the 75mcg dose. I'm definately feeling brighter and less fatigued but I still have my off days. The improvement though gives me more confidence about my forthcoming trip to Australia though as I had visions about spending most of the time in the house and had started Christmas shopping here in case I couldn't manage when I get out there. Guest guest
Hi Jen, Well done for asking for your results. I'd imagine he would't give you the others becuase he's afraid you'll educate yourself. I get all the results from my GP. Like this morning for example when I went to get my latest results. As always he gets the previous ones out and we go through them. He then gets his notepad and jots them down for me. One thing you could do. I wanted all my bloods for the last 8 years and to save my practice the hassle I rang PALS at my hospital, and they sent me a form to fill in to request all my bloods (and all notes if you choose)from my hospital because this is where all the bloods are sent to be tested. It cost £10 for the print outs and I can't remember how much for the initial search/request £10/£15 I think. They cannot, and don't refuse (unless it's deemed to be detrimental to your mental well being) I have had a lot of bloods done over the last 8 yrs as I have MS so I had a lot to request. If you haven't got many it might not be ideal. I don't know, but maybe worth a thought. Your Doctor can't actually deny you either but I know it's hard to ask if it's going to cause you problems with them. Luv Justeenxx > > I didn't want to get into the numbers stuff but here goes.
