Guest guest
Hi Leah I have had it sometimes since I started armour, and before that. I am introducint T3 when it arrives so I will let you know if it happens to me too in that way. I like you probably would have expected T3 to be stimulating, strange eh? Losing weight is a symptom of low adrenals though, so maybe the putting on weight is a sign that you are curing the adrenals and have the hypo going on mostly now instead? Just a thought hon. Sleeping is good, it helps you heal I know you can't keep on like it though forever but maybe for a week or so let yourself sleep? lotsa luv Dawnx
Guest guest
Sounds as if you need to increase T3 and split the dose so you take half when you wake before breakfast and the other half around 2.00p.m. Either that or go back onto the dose of Armour you were taking previously. Luv - Sheila I am now treating my adrenals and have cut down on armour and have been using T3 in a small dose (12.5) for the last couple of days and I just feel each day by about now (12) that I could fall asleep, yesterday it lasted until I enentually gave in and went to bed in the evening!! I am also gaining weight...
Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Sleep sounds good - tell that to my 2 year old though!! I'll be OK though - I get a chance to raise to 25mcg on Monday (tho I might cheat and try it Sunday when I'm not at work!)... I wondered if it was that I had treated the adrenals sufficiently - I certainly feel more stable witrh pred IYKWIM, don't feel soo up and down (more like consistently tired out!). I had a feeling Dr P would prescribe T3 for you as the symptoms you were describing were similar in lots of ways to me...See other post re: cheaper source... Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Dr P has set me on a course where I am to just take 12.5 T3 in am to satrt then next week (can't wait!!!) I have to add in another 12.5. I can't raise my Armour - it appears I cannot tolerate more than 1 1/2 grains - Dr P thinks my conversion is up the swannie! BTW when I do introduce my 2nd dose what time is best? I can't remember what he said? Doh. Guest guest
Hi leah, Quite likely, you should start to pick up again as you increase thyroid meds- but don't be tempted to go too fast too soon and cause yourself further problems. Subject: I am sooo sleepy! Hi, I am now treating my adrenals and have cut down on armour and have been using T3 in a small dose (12.5) for the last couple of days and I just feel each day by about now (12) that I could fall asleep, yesterday it lasted until I enentually gave in and went to bed in the evening!! I am also gaining weight... Has anyone else had this... Is it because the first time I am just hypo and my adrenals are no longer causing problems?? Guest guest
Does it not matter what time the 2nd dose is then? As long as it's not with food? Guest guest
Hi LEAH I will be very interested in how you are going on here as yes, you and I seem to be having similar problems. I will be looking for the cheaper sources hon, thanks, if these suit me. I am back to my 2 1/2 armour and 30mg hc at the mo and I am starting to balance out again thank God. If I didn't still have hypo symptoms and the inablility to walk I would stay on this dose lol. Hope you have more success splitting the dose, and yes I take ur point, little children are not condusive with being able to sleep, I remember that one take care and God bless Dawnx
Guest guest
Hi I am looking forward to raising on Sunday - only 1 day early (only rushing a bit!)... I am wondering if one of the reasons I have been feeling so sleepy, is that I have a slight cold+cough ( you can only tell in the morning and evening) and I haven't been stress dosing pred (been avoiding it, because I'm worried I won't want to drop back down, that's how I ended up on 5 not 2.5!!). However it got to the point this morning when I was really shakey and weak ,and felt like I would vomit, so I have given in and stress dosed... And am feeling better! Guest guest
It's entirely up to you Jo, but yes, the idea is to take it all at night so it is better absorbed with no food in your gut and you can then take iron and calcium during the day. You should never take these anywhere near thyroid hormone replacement. Luv - Sheila Thanks Sheila for clearing that up ! If you dose T3 at night does that mean you take none during the day at all ? It's just that i thoughtitwasbe er multi dosed :
