Guest guest
Hi Gill I have just ordered some and will start on half a grain a day, did you change over from thyroxine? If I dont do well on it I can always go back to thyroxine but I cant see any reason why I would need to do that, I am just replacing one thyroid treatment with another. I dont intend to rush things, I think thats the mistake a lot of people make becuase they are impatient but who can blame them? lol Hi - no Ive been on it a few months and echo what others have said that you should take it slowly - I dont feel that I have fully got onto the correct dose for me yet but my pains are much lmproved so I will continue! Guest guest
Hi Gill Lizzie here, just out of interest, have you been back to Dr B yet and told him that you are now on Armour. I am still wondering whether I might have more success with it, but i am anxious about doing it behind his back, don't want to get on the wrong side of him. He has recently increased my dose again in fact each time I see him I need another increase so i am always wondering if I still suffer symptoms as I have never reached the dose that will make me well. Love Lizzie I feel lie Im still getting there but the positives so far are wonderful - in that Ive lost weight and my pains are much improved!! >
Guest guest
Hi Sheila I don't want to tempt fate. As you know I had to raise my dose slowly this time on alternate days to begin with. Well it is now only 19 days since I have been taking 150 mcg T4 plus the usual 20 mcg of T3. I have been monitoring my temps as per Dr Rind and these are my averages for the last week 98.4, 98.4, 98.53, 98.45, 98.26, 98.46, 98.46. This is on 2 NAE per day. I think I may be getting there, but often this happens and then my thyroid seems to give up a little more and my symptoms come back and and i need another dose increase. I have lost 3 lbs in weight without doing anything. I am feeling quite hopeful as I know I will not yet be feeling the full benefit of this last dose increase. I go to see Dr B on the 19th December and am having my blood test this coming Friday. My leg pains come and go. I have noticed that if I use a muscle I am not used to using, in my non hypo days I would ache for a couple of days but now I can ache for a week or more, is this a hypo thing or just me getting old I'm 43. I did think I was seeing him a little too early this time as I will not have been on my full dose for even six weeks. but, at least I will be able to see how my blood results look, don't think I will be in a position to request Armour though as not given this increase a good chance. If it comes to it and I think I definitely need Armour I want Dr B's backing and a prescription for it if possible as I cannot afford to pay for it along with all my supplements although at the end of the day I will if it is the only option. Love Lizzie > > Lizzie - you haven't told us how you feel on your recent increase by Dr B. I > hope things are getting better, but from what you have written here, I am > beginning to doubt it.
