Here in GA, the local Home Depot will take them for recycling. I think the last pkg I bought also had info on the back of it as to how to locate a recycling center.

Yeah, but no one, in my state at least has "stepped up" to start evenrecycling collection center for fluorescent lights! I wonder, howmuch better ARE THEY really for the environment?
