Just a piece of the article. this stuff is terrible. I was feeling a strange sensation in my thighs, like a numbness at times anf the separation of muscles and tendons was pronounced.. Apparently the following muscular problems can continue after discontinuing the drug. SCARY STUFF! This is worth reading! Absolutely no warnings were provided either by the docor or the pharmacist.

Rhabdomyolysis

Just as in the case of Baycol and other fluorinated drugs, Cipro can cause musculo-skeletal disorders such as rhabdomyolysis. Since the introduction of fluoroquinolones on the market in 1987, more than 200 cases of rhabdomyolysis, tendinitis, tendon rupture, etc. have been reported in the literature.4,13,14,15

In October 1994 the Japan Pharmaceutical Affairs Bureau was first to amend the product information for fluoroquinolones to state that rhabdomyolysis may occur.16

In 1996, the FDA also issued directives to manufacturers to include warning statements on all fluoroquinoline product inserts to alert patients and caregivers to the potential for tendinitis and tendon rupture.17 In the same year, the Sri Lanka Drug Evaluation Sub-Committee decided that the product information sheet on fluoroquinolone antibiotics should include the following warning: "The onset of tendon pain calls for immediate withdrawal of fluoroquinolone antibiotics."18

Achilles tendon rupture was shown to occur even after withdrawal of the drug with examination showing pathological ultrastructure alteration in tendinocytes. Just as in other cases of fluoride poisoning, studies in animals show that magnesium deficiency aggravates the induced tendinopathy.14,19

You know this has me thinking. When I was hypo my joints were so loose it was awful. If we follow the path of this being a fluoride based drug which blocks the NIS receptors or is substituted for iodine in the case of deficiency it would cause a hypothyroid situation thus giving the tendon issues. Maybe it is underlying hypoT. But since most Conv doc's don't evaluate thyroid numbers correctly they wouldn't make the correlation.

I am shocked at the number of you who reported issues with this drug and how many of you took it for extended periods. I had a nurse on one of my other groups tell me - "Gosh I don't know what happened to you because I give this to a ton of people and have never had a problem. Are you sure it was the drug?" Oh my - Yes I am sure. So frustrating that your experiences are discounted to protect a clearly bad drug.

My opinion is yes. Fluoride is just nasty stuff. It is a bone destroyer, iodine inhibitor, thyroid trasher and more. It was used in Nazi concentration camps to sedate people. Many holistic practitioners say that adding fluoride to the water has contributed to the "dumbing down" of America. Look at our children. More problems with attention issues than ever before. We put a full house water filtration system in with a 6 filter r/o to stop any possible crumb from getting in. It has helped my children and me I believe. I feel so much better and this was the first year none of us got sick.

Thanks. I didn't know that baycol (which is a statin or

cholesterol-lowering drug) is also a fluorinated drug. Scary.
