I remember people talking about better forms of vitamin C but can't find it now. Maybe it wasn't on this list.Anyhow, what type of C is best, if there is a preferable form? I am almost out so now would be a good time to switch from the grocery store brand to something else.I'm also concerned about things coming from China, it seems like every day I read something else about supplements and things from China being contaminated with industrial waste and worse.

I have taken EmergenC for several years

now; I like it and do find a small increase in energy – when I start

iodine, will that be an acceptable form of C?

I don't know much about it. Are you getting 2,000 - 3,000 mgs? That is what is recommended.

I started taking Optimox c-500 for a while but I was up to 4 scoops / day. It takes some time to develop bowel tolerance. I just stopped the Optimox because I didn't feel as well and went back to the BalanCe and can only do 1 scoop right now.

I’ll double check; I think they are

1,000 mg packets; I usually take at least 2 a day, so it should work!

I just received the BalanCe I purchased on line. When I read the label I was surprised to see Vit C listed as Ascorbic acid because that was what my cheap brand of Vit C I bought from the local drug store was listed as.

But I think the difference is that the BalanCe also contains calcium, magnesium and potassium, which I think are called buffering agents, which allow better absorption of the Vit C. I think that is the way it works.
