I think I will stick to the cortef that I am taking, my head feels very muddled today--- On Sat, 13/9/08, sheilaturner <sheilaturner@...>

 I should tell you , that Dr Peatfield has seen people on some generic HC that has actually set them back. Speak to him about this, this is too serious a subject when it comes to swapping brands mid-stream, especially as you are still not quite there yet. However, it is up to you.

Do you know which generic this is Sheila as I am taking the Westward brand from International Pharmacy and have never taken Cortef?

Could this be why I need so much h/c?

First, please can you leave just a teeny weeny bit of the message you are responding to as I had to go back rummaging to find it?

No, I do not know which generic it is. I guess it is a case of trial and error and if you are taking a generic HC and you feel it is not working for you then it might be sensible to try either another generic, or the brand name.

Thanks Sheila, if you can remember that would be really helpful for a

few peeps on the list as the wrong kind of adrenal support could,

potentially, scupper all attempts at optimising thyroid I am sure.

The more I learn about adrenal health, the more I am seeing it as the

keystone to recovery.

Erring on the side of caution I suppose. Thing is he did not

ask me when I saw him what kind of h/c I was taking so I wonder how

important this actually is?

It would be good to know for sure anyway.

No he didnt ask me when I asked if I should try it, I just wonder why the cortef should be so much more expensive but its like all brand things isnt it? I think I said on here the arguement I had over brand prozac and the generic version with my doc when I was taking it, but saying that when I was less aware of these things I have taken generic versions of another AD and had no problems with it!

My temps are slowly risng Mo so I am taking that as a positive good sign that things are going in the right direction, although still have these funny light headed moments but hoping that will go too, I seem to go from one bad day to a good day at the moment, and I am not as anxious!
