Hi Jonny

When I had my thyroid removed years ago, the doctors didnt give me any

replacement meds for many weeks because I was due to have radioactive

iodine. I was still at school then and I have distinct memories of

having very very achy legs during that time. The shortest walk would

result in severe aches from my knee to ankle - it actually felt like

my bones were in pain. So if thats what you;re experiencing it sounds

like thyroid to me.

Also the eye thing sounds very thyroid to me; I've also had that need

to constantly rub my eyes when I've been hypothyroid.

I know you say you dont want to take more than 20mg HC, but maybe you

need more. We're all different. If its helping you, then that seems

to suggest that you need it, so why not add a little more? If you

start experiencing symptoms of excess then you could cut back as needed.

The fact that extra HC is helping you suggests to me that you need it.

Also, if you are indeed hypothyroid, the stress of that will

negatively affect your adrenals, putting them under more pressure ad

making it harder for them to function optimally.

And conversely if your adrenals are stressed your ability to produce

and absorb thyroid hormones will be negatively impacted. So maybe the

extra HC is allowing your thyroid to function better, or allowing your

conversion of T4 to T3 to take place more efficiently, OR allowing

your cells to absorb T3 more efficiently.

I dont know the answer, but either way, it seems to work for you.

From my own experience there is no magic formula for getting the

dosing right (either thyroid or HC dosing). Its a question of

sensible experimentation and trying to figure out what works best for you.

I cant answer to the iron levels as I have no real experience of it.

Hope you figure it out soon.

Marie
