Guest guest
I have exactly the same Berny and it would last for an hour or so after I got up. I had this very bad before I started to take T3 and then Armour. Then some time whilst I was taking the T3 or Armour it must have stopped because I had forgotten all about it. It was only recently when the doctor threatened me with no medical cover if I carried on taking the Armour and I went on thyroxine alone that it started up again. If there is another way to solve it I would be most interested too. Lilian
Guest guest
Hi berny This sounds like Carpel Tunnel Syndrome - one of the bigger symptoms of hypothyroidism. Once you are on the dose of thyroid hormone replacement that your body requires, this should improve considerably. Have a look at the following http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=1496575 and a little more about this at http://thyroid.about.com/cs/symptomsproblems/a/carpal.htm Luv - Sheila In the last 2 years I get pins and needles in my arms and hands if I slightly raise them whilst asleep. What can I take to solve it? thanks berny
Guest guest
Lilian - how ARE you? I have been so worried since your endocrinologist made such a threat and took you off a medication that has been making you well for the last five years and put you back onto Levothyroxine only. I couldn't exist if my doctor did that to me. Such a doctor should be reported to the GMC. Even the GMC have now accepted that some patients do need combination therapy, whether this is synthetic T4/T3 or natural Armour, it matters not to them, so why is your endocrinologist threatening to remove your medical cover if you carry on taking it? Oh, how I would love to come down to Essex for the sole reason of having a little word in the ugly ear of such an uncaring doctor. I think at this stage, I would happily have told him I didn't need treatment from such a doctor who could not keep up to date with research and look at the facts that natural thyroid extract was the ONLY medication for ALL hypothyroidism and was used safely and effectively for over 100 years before synthetic levothyroxine was manufactured. I know though, that you need him because of your diabetes, but heaven forbid, there are other endocrinologists who do not have a heart of stone.
