Guest guest
have you tried more Iodoral? do you take ATP cofactors? Gracia I've been having a lot of problems with bromide detox lately. I've been taking 50 mg iodoral since right after Christmas, but I'm still detoxing. I wondered if anyone has tried using turmeric to support the liver? I also have low cholesterol and I read that turmeric is supposed to help the liver and gallbladder. I think one of my detox issues is that my liver needs to be supported, especially after I had RAI last year. No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG. Guest guest
Hi ~ I've not tried tumeric, but a great liver support product is Livaplex from Standard Process. With bromide detox going on I'm taking 3/day. The other product that really helps me is Sonne's #7, a liquid form of bentonite clay. ~ -----Original Message-----From: iodine [mailto:iodine ]On Behalf Of DeCubellis RanchSent: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 10:40 AMiodine Subject: liver support for detox I've been having a lot of problems with bromide detox lately. Guest guest
Hi , I use a medical drink supplement that contains Turmeric and it has been pivotal in helping me get well; my naturopath recommended it and I use it for detox/cleanse twice a year as well as daily maintenance. Turmeric is primarily used as an anti-inflammatory. It's called Metagenics UltraInflammx; it's great. http://www.metagenics.com/tlc_programs/inflammation.asp > I also have low cholesterol and I read that turmeric is supposed to help the liver and gallbladder. Guest guest
The best liver detox should include SILYMARIN along with tumeric. phine > > I've been having a lot of problems with bromide detox lately. Guest guest
Thanks ! I'm glad to hear your report on turmeric. I just started using turmeric capsules today from Premier Research Labs. I'll check out that link, too. -----Original Message----- > >Hi , > >I use a medical drink supplement that contains Turmeric and it has >been pivotal in helping me get well; my naturopath recommended it and >I use it for detox/cleanse twice a year as well as daily maintenance. > >Turmeric is primarily used as an anti-inflammatory. > >It's called Metagenics UltraInflammx; it's great. > >http://www.metagenics.com/tlc_programs/inflammation.asp > > >
Guest guest
You can also get it (cheaply) from Penzey's spices. It is a great food additive! Guest guest
I have just formulated (along with a master herbalist) two producs called LivaPure and ParaPure and am seeing great results with clients. Detoxification is so important and I have written about the necessity of it on this and other forums many times. Another important cleanse to perform is for parasites. Parasites can literally rob you of important nutrients. Some actually fool the body into thinking they are a normal part of our tissues or organs. Other parasites secrete a fat that impedes the immune response. Parasites also give off their own metabolic wastes which are damaging to the immune system. Candida albicans, a fungus, secretes an acid that can damage the mucosal lining of the digestive tract which then allows the organism to puncture the intestinal wall and enter the bloodstream. It is estimated that 90% of the population has parasites and/or fungal infections. One of the ingredients that I include in LivaPure is Milk Thistle Seed. There are several reasons to use the milk thistle seed rather than silymarin extract. Using the whole herb is recommended as often it will have a more balanced effect. The milk thistle extract silymarin, for instance, has proven useful in treating liver disease. However, the main drawback to using silymarin is that, if a healthcare professional prescribes other drugs, such as steroids, silymarin can interfere with the liver's ability to detoxify them. Milk thistle seed has the same healing effect on the liver without interfering with the organ's ability to detoxify drugs or environmental chemicals. It also has a side benefit of normalizing blood lipids as the liver heals. While Turmeric is good with inflammation, what you want to do with liver cleansing is to truly cleanse the liver. Turmeric will increase bile which will supposedly help with cleansing but it is not a great liver cleanser by itself as it’s main properties are for inflammation. Fringetree Bark will do the same thing but has the added benefit of cleansing and supporting the liver and gallbladder. LivaPure also contains Wildcrafted Chanca Piedra which helps to break down liver stones. This is an important herb. I suggest mixing the LivaPure with 1 gallon of organic apple juice and drinking four 8-ounce glasses daily between meals for four days. To complete the cleanse it is necessary to drink an olive oil and grapefruit mixture on day 5. This is effective and beneficial liver/gallbladder cleansing. All of the products that I formulate use all organic herbs and when organic is not available, wildcrafted herbs are used and I do not use herbs from China. The ingredient list for LivaPure is: Organic Milk Thistle seed, Wildcrafted Chanca Piedra, Organic Fringetree bark, Organic Dandelion root, Organic Nettles root, Organic Marshmallow root, Organic Yellow Dock root, Organic Marshmallow leaf, Organic Dandelion leaf, Organic Nettles leaf, Organic Barberry root bark, Organic Blue Flag. Ingredient list for ParaPure (contains same ingredients that Dr. Hulda recommends) is: Organic Black Walnut Hull, English Lavender Blossom, Orange Peel, Clove, Garlic clove, Male Fern Root, Wormwood Root, Organic Turmeric Root, Organic Yellow Dock Root. Being a cancer survivor, I personally understand the extreme importance of cleansing. It is necessary and important to support the body in health and well-being. Many people get on vitamins, supplements, etc. using them like drugs and wonder why they do not experience results – often it is because the body is too toxic and absorption is hampered. It’s like putting new oil into a car without first draining out the old oil. I was fortunate enough to have as my doctor (also interned under him for three years) one who understood the importance of cleansing and detoxifng the body – especially a body that is suffering from disease. You can read more about LivaPure and ParaPure at: http://www.oasisadvancedwellness.com/products/detoxification-cleansing-bowel.html The individual product pages have not been indexed by Google yet as we have been doing in-house trials and have just now started to offer the products to the public. All of this is just more information to add to your files. There are some good liver and parasite cleanses out there, of course, but because I have a lot of experience with cleansing and detoxification methods I wanted to offer my OAW clients products of which I knew exactly how they were made and under what circumstances. Many think that a supplement is a supplement, a vitamin a vitamin, but this is just not the case. I do a lot of product research and along with the good products there are a lot of products that contain toxic fillers and binders and added ingredients which can actually make the body more toxic. This doesn’t have to be, but indicates that the manufacturer is more interested in making more money by including very cheap ingredients. If any of you want to try either of these cleanses I will give a 10% discount to the iodine group only (please do not pass this on to other groups) through Sunday July 20, 2008 midnight CDT. To get 10% off use DISCOUNT10 as the coupon code. Be Well Loretta
Guest guest
Also as far as the turmeric goes...be careful of sources...since it is good at capturing lead inferior brands will actually contain lead much in the same way that inferior chlorella or cilantro will contain mercury. www.leadingorganicskincare.com Certified Organic Products for the Whole Family
Guest guest
Another thought...I was watching a documentary recently on India where much of it is grown, and it was making a very strong point about the lack of water, drinking water over there. It is severe. It made me wonder then if they have no clean water to drink, just what are they watering their crops with. I stopped ordering turmeric since then.-Sanr Also as far as the turmeric goes...be careful of sources...since it is good at capturing lead inferior brands will actually contain lead much in the same way that inferior chlorella or cilantro will contain mercury. www.leadingorganicskincare.com Certified Organic Products for the Whole Family
