Guest guest
Hi all, I heard about bromides in Mountain Dew, Gatorade etc. But vaguely recall reading in a book by Erasmus Udo (if memory is correct) that something like brominated oil is added to juice so that it doesn't separate in the bottle - ie. my home made V-8 juice is like a parfait - a far cry from the smooth texture of commercial V-8 juice. Thing is, I've looked and looked and have yet to find an indication of bromides on the lables of such juices. So does anyone know more about this issue? I'm almost ready to stop buying commercial juice *sigh* Thanks for your time and consideration. sr
Guest guest
It is only citrus products from what I know. I have never heard that it is in other forms of juices. It helps to suspend the citrus oils in a liquid. Guest guest
If you look on the ingredients of the orange gatorade and mountain dew, brominated vegetable oil is listed.
