Again, the essential nutrients left in thyroid tissue after the thyroxines have been removed, especially the amino acids that Sheila mentioned, are the same as in hamburger, and you get more of them at a much lower price. If you have a conversion problem, you would do better taking some selenium. Relatively little T4 to T3 conversion happens in the thyroid gland, anyway, so you would not expect thyroid tissue to be rich in something needed for conversion. By that logic, people with conversion issues should get their essential nutrients from beef liver or kidneys. No fava beans, thanks. Then again, you might like a diet of sweetbreads.
