Guest guest
Hi VCL, I have been sleeping for 6 years because I have been on Ativan for that long. Without it I was up ALL night for two weeks and would still be up or dead if it hadn't been for the ativan. The sleeplessness was due to phsyiological changes going on - menopause, MS, Graves disease, all at the same time. My body couldn't handle it. Now I have been able to cut down on the ativan but not entirely because the panic starts in in the middle of the night, so the way I look at it is thank you medical science for finding this drug that makes me sleep - it takes away the anxiety and allows me to sleep sleep sleep. I don't care if I am addicted. I am just happy that there is something in this world that will let me sleep. So I say, forget about it. If you need help or want to explore weaning off - do it with the help of a doctor or naturopath or acupunturist or someone who can provide support in other ways. And if that doesn't work, I would not feel bad about needing to stay on it until your body is ready. Guest guest
Alice, Thank you for those words of wisdom. If the doctor keeps prescribing Ambien, then I will continue taking it. I am also on Ativan, but I take it during the day. I guess I am just a mess! Ha! VCL Hi VCL, I have been sleeping for 6 years because I have been on Ativan for that long. Guest guest
I also need this to sleep (1-1 1/2 mg) and it helps relax me overall. Sleep is a very big part of healing for any illness so this drug has been a mixed blessing for me. Sometimes it makes my legs weaker though ;(.
