Guest guest
What is HHN? I have estrogen dominance with a newly diagnose 8cm uterine fribroid and have been taking progesterone cream....I am also hashi's and have been taking 50 mg of iodoral daily since march. If this does occur with the iodine, perhaps i should ditch the cream...appreciate your help with the HHN. Is is another group? From: jwpuppyluv <jwpuppyluv@...>Subject: Re: high iodine, high progesteroneiodine Date: Friday, July 4, 2008, 7:36 PM> I had the same experience as you, . My testing was done via saliva, which is more accurate than serum. I never had baseline testing done, though, so it is possible that my progesterone was elevated prior to iodine supplementation (although I don't think that is very common). WOW! Eureka! A possible answer then! For the life of me I couldn't figure out how my P levels would be that high, and was really thinking it was probably sample contamination. But that's three of us (at least) who have had the same experience. Like yourself, Olif, I did not have any baseline testing done either, but I cannot imagine why my P levels would naturally be THAT high. > At one time I had also tried progesterone cream, and I will never do that again! My symptoms were greatly exasperated. I was having anxiety and insomnia at the time. Are your P levels still high on high iodine? DId you reduce your iodine dose? I definitely have issues with anxiety and insomnia. Per suggestions here awhile back I've tried the iodine in the morning and it doesn't help. But if it's actually an indirect result of the iodine via high levels of P, that would make sense why the time of day doesn't matter. I am also TTC (well, as of next month, again...we have already been TTC for three months and have taken a two month break); any ideas as to how the high P would affect TTC? Would it be better to just cut WAY back on the iodine? > > Pat, on HHN, routinely uses Iodoral to raise progesterone levels in women with low progesterone. I may have to check out this group. > > I don't believe Brownstein does this, but I also believe he monitors sex hormones via serum, so he wouldn't be as likely to notice the correlation. That makes sense. ------------------------------------
