Guest guest
I started Nutri Adrenal Extra (NAX) a week and a half ago, following Dr. P's treatment plan for me. I took one a day last week, this week it's two. At about the same time I had to change my HRT and I've halved my estrogen and started using natural progesterone cream. I'm still just as tired and the old aches are creeping back after feeling better in the hot weather. I'm also getting more night time hot flushes. My temperature is slowly rising (it was 36.4 this morning) and my pulse is slowly falling (it was 58 this morning). Could this be the weather? The progesterone? The NAX? I start Armour next week. Will I start to feel better then?
Guest guest
Hi - we usually recommend starting Armour for the first time by using half a grain only to check you will have no adverse effects and usually, when starting something for the first time, it is best to start ONLY one medication at a time, because if things are not working correctly, you know where the problem might lie, but taking two new medications could be a problem. We recommend using the best Progesterone Cream because some are not pure progesterone and contain other things. We recommend Serenity. Why are you taking both Oestrogen and Progesterone? I think with your tiredness and hot flushes, this sounds to be more of a sex hormone problem. Hypothyroids are more prone to being oestrogen dominant and you need Progesterone Cream to balance the two hormones. You might need to speak with Dr P to see what ideas he has. Luv - Sheila I took my first thyroid supplement ever today: 1 grain of Armour. I'm feeling really tired. I was hoping that the NAX would have helped a bit but maybe I'm in too much of a rush. I start to wonder if Dr P is wrong and it's not my thyroid at all. It doesn't help that I've had to change my HRT at the same time. The progestogen I used for half of each month was taken off the market and the natural progesterone cream that I changed to had no effect except to make my skin react to the Estraderm (estrogen patch). So now I'm following my GP's advice and only using topical estrogen where it's needed and I'm back to hot flushes again. I don't think that's the problem, though, I think it just makes it all more confusing. I keep hoping I'll feel better soon. It feels as though I'm just being lazy. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Thanks for your comments. I'm following the plan set out for me by Dr P - he advised starting with 1 grain Armour. I know that it's a bad time to mess with stopping my HRT but there wasn't a lot of choice. Effectively, I'm not on anything at the moment. (The amount of estrogen absorbed from topical use should be minimal.) I can't really go into the reasons why I know that lack of estrogen is a problem for me, not on a mixed forum. The progesterone cream I tried was Serenity and I'll have to talk to Dr P about whether it might help me in the long run. My candida test came back negative, so no action needed. I've just had my adrenal saliva test back and the results were: Cortisol First: 7.8 (range 12 - 22) Second: 2.2 (5.0 - 9.0) Third: 1.5 (3.0 - 7.0) Fourth: 1.5 (1.0 - 3.0) Total: 13.0 (21 - 41) DHEA am: 0.26 (no reference range given) pm: 0.18 (no reference range given) mean: 0.22 (0.20 - 0.70) DHEA/Cortisol ratio 1.69 (0.6 - 3.0) Dr P made a note on the result that this shows pretty poor adrenal function and that I am almost flatlining. I wonder if this is what the problem is. I guess I'm going to have to give him a ring to see what to do next but I do hate to bother him. All the best, > > Hi - we usually recommend starting Armour for the first time by using > half a grain only
