Hmmm, was hoping nobody would ask that. :-)

How it came about is that after I began on LDN for my PLS (Primary

Lateral Sclerosis, a form of motor neurone disease) and found that it

helped I posted info about it, the low dose naltrexone website and this

group on Ozpals, a similar Group for people in Australia and New

Zealand with MND. A few people there then started on it and found it

helped them too and apparently some people then began badgering the

MNDAV, our state association for people with MND, to spread the word

through their newsletter so that in particular people who didn't use the

internet could at least read about it and decide whether to pursue it

further with the help of friends, family, the local library etc.. (MND

typically hits people over 50 on average and many of them don't use the

internet.)

The MNDAV agreed (or relented?) and as it was me who had set the ball in

motion the request found its way back to me. Therefore I wrote up an

article about LDN that basically just summarised a lot of the info on

the low dose naltrexone website, gave its URL so that interested people

could follow it up themselves, explained how it had helped me and three

others I knew of taking it for ALS/MND and pointed out that it may not

be easy to get a prescription but to persevere.

It was certainly nothing world shattering and if anybody really wants a

copy of what I wrote I can email it to them or the group (and die of

embarrassment). My aim in mentioning that the MNDAV had published

something about LDN was certainly not to in any way pat myself on the

back (ha, if only I could reach!) but to show that such a group had been

willing to do so. Hopefully the start of more doing so, although from

what I have read here about the MS Societies pretty well everywhere I am

don't expect we'll see a rush........ :-(

All the more reason for commending the MNDAV! :-)
