Yes, you can buy them that just screw in..... Try a health food store. I

can't remember right now where we got ours, but they are reg lightbulbs and

VERY long lasting. I need higher watage because to me they don't give out as

much light.... but I'm really into light!

Thank you Laurie! Is there a particular brand that I should look for?

Otherwise, I'll just check around at the health markets and see what they

advise.

I appreciate your response

Thanks anyway, Laurie. I'll start haunting the markets for some.

That light you're talking about is called a "full-spectrum light" One warning and it's extremely important: Be sure to keep the shield over the bulb or you can get cataracts. The shield on my light (which cost over $300 10 years ago, by the way) is a simple piece of clear plastic. Don't know how it works, but the instructions that came with it were very strongly worded about using that shield. My Mom forgot, left it off for a year, and whoosh---cataracts!

I think you're supposed to use it during cetain hours-morning is best--but I'm not 100% sure of that.

It definitely helps us here in Minnesota. My husband is subject to depression. I hauled it out 2 weeks ago and he perked right up!

I wonder if people really understand how important light and color therapy can

be and how cruical is vitamin D we get from being in the sun! The sun is more

than super healthy in the right doses, it is crucial but neglected and now

rejected. What could be more important than good sun, a good walk, swim or run

under its nurturing rays. Good indoor full spectrum is the best we can easily do

inside...and then we got to consider the water....most basic of all

medicines...so we want it as pure and mineralized as possible.

You can go to Home Depot and get " Reveal " . On the box it says 'Full-Spectrum " .

Don't spend more than you have to on brands that sell things 10 times more

expensive. I believe in full-spectrum and our entire home has this.
