Welcome, !

As far as Dr. Brownstein's books, I found them at the library but had to

get them through inter library loan. I ended up buying his iodine book

though because it has good information and I wanted my own copy to go

back to whenever I have a question.

I get my Iodoral from breastcancerchoices.org - it's a good price and if

you can buy the bigger quantity you don't pay shipping.

It does get expensive with all the supplements and alternative

practitioners who usually aren't covered by insurance. I have never

done the loading test because of cost. I am saving up to do one later

on, along with the bromide one too.

Very new here...intro

I am in Tennessee. A friend recommended this group to mebecause I am on a quest to find health. I am grossly overweight 150+lbs. Plus I believe I have Fibro, Arthritis, mal-absorption problems, gut problems (I am working on that with naturally firmented foods),and probably other things that are not coming to my foggy brain. Yet Ieat very healthy and healthier everyday. I long ago have thrown outreg. MD's because I have gotten nowhere. I have done quite a bit ofstudying on my own. Have even studied somewhat on Iodine. And likethe lady the other day went out to buy some and found none! (thanks tothe druggies of our world!) I have been on here (on the forumgleaning from all your posts!) for several weeks, reading all theposts but feeling a bit lost. I have figured out that I neediodine...I think that is a DUHHH! But I have a VERY limited budget. I don't think I can afford all the blood tests you all talk about. Ihave been adding kelp to everything and Real Salt.

<<SB>> Please do not continue to use kelp as it can be high in arsenic and toxic halides. It is not safe and not a good source of iodine.

Past that what ist he cheapest source of iodine? Where can I buy it?

<<SB>> Liquid Lugol's is the cheapest form. Some people have been able to have their wal-mart pharmacy order it for them or they order it on line www.jcrows.com is one resource.

What can I do onmy own with out testing to get started or should I?

It is not necessary to do testing before starting iodine. It is nice to know how deficient you are so you can see the progress (or not) that you are making and make adjustments. This would be a loading test to find out. No blood work is needed.

Is there some things I can do or watch for when I do get started?

<<SB>> Everyone is different so there isn't a list of what to look for. There are common detoxing symptoms which can be found on the iodine page at www.breastcancerchoices.org

I am feeling abit overwhelmed. I am sorry if these questions have already beenanswered somewhere and I have missed them...if they have if you couldjust direct them to me. I have not bought any books...could I getthem at the library? Any information on where and how to get startedwould be greatly welcomed!

<<SB>> The best book to get on iodine is Dr. Brownstein's book on Iodine www.drbrownstein.com and also read the research on www.optimox.com that is free.

Thank you in advance!Blessings,

Hello, so I'm sure you have read most of the talk today about Celiac. I believe after reading this you have Celiac as well as thyroid problems. Please think and or look into going gluten free to help with that foggy brain. The weight, Fibro, Arthritis, and gut problems. If you want or need more info please feel free to email me off line. But google is a great tool.
