Guest guest
Lugol's is for hyper and hypothyroid conditions. Your thyroid depends on iodine to create thyroid hormone. The T4 is tyrosine / thyroglobulin and iodine (4 molecules). T3 has 3 molecules. You will be low thyroid if not enough iodine and selenium is available. For Hyperthyroid they do give larger doses of iodine along with Lithium to slow the thyroid down. It will only reduce the size of an enlarge thyroid that has swelled in an attempt to capture more iodine from the blood stream. I recommend that you read Dr. Brownstein's book on Iodine. It will answer many of your questions. Lugols Information The information that I got from the drug store with my Lugols states that it should be taken by people with hyperthyroid conditions. I have a hypo condition, I am really confused. Should I not be taking it? I don't want to make it worse. It also states that it will shrink the thyroid gland. This is not sounding right.Deb

Guest guest
Deb, check the information again. It would more likely be that the drug store information would say that it should NOT be taken by people with hyperthyroid conditions, because that is what the medical establishment thinks. If it doesn't have the NOT, then it seems as though it's a mistake.
