Guest guest
I am getting sick reading all these posts about corruption! By parents who have autistic kids themselves! But ofcourse that shouldnt blind us to things that might help our children. Whether Rimland or Kirkman or some folks involved with DAN are corrupt and have $$$ signs in their eyes, does not mean that secretin wouldnt help for some of our children, or that Kirkman products arent helpful, or that we would not benefit from a DAN doctor or the DAN protocol. Rivky [ ] more > he is a joint holder of the secretin patent > > " both Beck and Rimland have a vested interest in secretin. Guest guest
you can't seperate dan from rimland and ari, (kirkmans is an open question, unless rimland is a shareholder) dan has the same problems as rimland, generally the formulations are too coarse or the protocols are not close enough to the target. its all the old medical paradigm assuming minimal knowlwedge by the parent/patient its not a good equation the new paradigm is more knowledge by parents and its all a discovery process of what works and continual tuning any group that pretends to know about autism and can't get the difference between autism being a constructive adaptation to neurological difficulty and the need to remedy the biological conditions that give rise to this need is messed up and will continue to mess up. the autistic response should be encouraged and the biological conditions worked on is how it has to be to make progress. the way things are at the moment you have to view dan as a marketing tool and potentially very hostile and dangerous to parents true interests since the way of medical groups is to get laws passed which give them an exclusive right to treat, give advice and effectively prescribe supplements/medications. the way forward is improving your own knowledge to the point that a protocol by dan seems a bit silly , somewhat like a newspaper headline or something.... some parents want the old world where they don't have to think, admit the educational system is next to useless and the box called parent goes to the box called doctor and everything is wonderful life blurred for me and it gives me no grief to have it blurred for you > I am getting sick reading all these posts about corruption! Guest guest
Hi I totally agree with this! Had to, rather than wanted to and now I can't see a medic making decisions for my family without me going through everything again. Very empowering (and scarey sometimes!)
