Two weeks into Iodine - my story so far - LOOONG

I just thought I would share my story because I was going to write it

down (if I ever need it for any reason) and I thought here would be a

good place.

I live in New Zealand, am 32, we have a 5yr old and a 3 yr old

(breast-fed one for a yr the other 2yrs). Grew up on a farm where our

family *took* fluoride tablets to make our teeth *nice and strong*. My

mum has stage 4 breast cancer (was diagnosed 5 years ago) and has

undergone a double mastectomy, Radiotherapy, Chemo, countless drugs

etc all mainstream. I can't imagine life without my awesome mum but

she seems to far advanced for anything to be of help to her now as the

cancer has spread to her spine and other areas of her body. At the

moment we just love every day we are given to spend with her.

As for me, I have had painful sore swollen breasts for the last 2-3

months (not that long really) and my left breast had some large

feeling lumps.

The day I saw my doctor I went in told him I had a breast lump but did

not want a mammogram or a biopsy so didn't really know how he could

help me but just thought I should tell him anyway (he's a lovely

mainstream doctor). And that I was going to try iodine - he said

fine....can't hurt you. He then referred me to a breast surgeon and I

have yet to get an appointment- that was two weeks ago.

I left and bought some Lugols solution 5% (As I had been reading at

BreastCancerChoices about Iodine) and took *only* 2 drops. Within 12

hours all the pain had gone. It's now two weeks later and the lump has

somewhat reduced but is still there. Some days I can feel what I would

describe as a deep ache in the back of my breast still.

Mum just told me she also was diagnosed with FBD at my age and was

told it may turn into breast cancer and that she would just have to

get used to the pain. She was also told to cut out coffee and she did

and the lumps went (I thought that was interesting!!). I am praying I

don't keep following in her footsteps and am trying not to dwell on that.

Other Notes:

about 2 hours after taking the first iodine I got a full frontal

headache (which I presume was bromide detox)

I'm taking daily 1ml of a 5% Lugols solution = 50mg, 1000mg Vitamin C,

selenium, magnesium, B1, B2 and B3 (from memory).

At night I've been painting left breast and have started rubbing with

Tui Bee Balm (moisturizer) because I noticed them getting dry.

I've had about 3 large pimples appear on my back within the first

week(which was unusual for me)

about 7 -8 days later after starting my glands all came up around my

neck and ears and were extremely sore (don't know what was happening

there) - don't even know if it was connected.

The first week I had a horrible metallic taste in my mouth which I

thought to be iodine - but I think it might have been bromide detox as

I don't have it anymore.

I have a sore spot on my back and around my ribs on my left side (sore

breast side) - don't know what that is - liver? connection to beast??

A couple of days ago I was feeling very sick and light headed and

dizzy so I stopped the iodine and came right. Started again today.

The liquid is nasty stuff!! I tried squirting it down my throat with a

syringe - BAD MOVE - I thought I would be bypassing my taste buds and

was being clever!! That stuff burns and it lasted for hours ! Dont' do

it. I'll have to just stick with adding it to orange juice and

gagging. I'd get the Iodoral but we can't afford it, not on top of all

the other co-factors that we're buying. Will just have to put up with

the nasty stuff.

I'm pretty sure all my skin feels smoother but could be imagining it.

***And if anyone's read all that I do have one question. Can I just

paint my breasts with 50mg of Iodine instead of taking it orally -

it's just sooo dang disgusting.

End of Story so far.

Tara
