Guest guest
Hi! I do not understand all the negative comments related to this new drug. This is the first new drug approved for MS since 1996. Any new treatment option is welcome. Yes, side effects are there. But every medicine has side effects. The point is that this drug seems to be very effective compared to the current ones (would you trade your wheelchair for depression and UTIs? I think some people would). Now everybody has the option to take this or not to take this. But without the approval none would have been given this option. I hope MSers will start taking it and word will spread soon - and this will convince even the most doubtful ones.

Guest guest
That didn't work. Here is a copy of the Message I Posted responding to a question of whether LDN could be used with Tysabri: GoodShape Antigren/Tysabri - In a way yes! Wed Nov 24, 2004 19:24 68.235.81.245 Drug Companies never take their eye off the Dollar. Instead of getting approval for it alone, they combined it with Avonex injections so that sales of Avonex would improve and you don't want to take Avonex plus LDN and that is the only way the Neuros are going to Rx it. Here is a small piece of a larger Investment article I read today: " In order to promote combination therapy, Elan and Biogen/IDEC planned a clever trial in people with MS, using Tysabri plus Avonex, Avonex alone, or nothing. Notice -- there was no head-to-head comparison between Tysabri alone, versus Avonex alone. Why? Elan's Tysabri is a much better drug. And that would devalue Biogen's Avonex franchise. Guest guest
The reported side-effects of Antegren are standard " boiler plate " description, similar to those of other drugs.. While one needs to approach Antegren with both eyes and ears open (considering that the 2 year data is not yet out), it does appear to be better than the current ABCR's. IMHO, anyone taking the standard ABCR's would be better off with Antegren. A > > Hi! > > I do not understand all the negative comments related to this new > drug. Guest guest
Aegis, I thought copax was the only compatible ABCR treatment with LDN. Is Antegren compatible? Also I thought the language describing the trial of antegren was confusing....was it ever tested alone vs. a placebo, or was avonex always given as well? -- [low dose naltrexone] Re: Tysabri (formerly known as Antegren) The reported side-effects of Antegren are standard "boiler plate" description, similar to those of other drugs.. Guest guest
It is unknown whether LDN is compatible with Tysabri, but there is no obvious reason why it should not be. In the first study linked in my previous Avonex post, Tysabri was compared with placebo alone.. A > > > > Hi! > > > > I do not understand all the negative comments related to this new > > drug.
